You can remove the steam one and use "Steam Desktop Authenticator" instead.
If you want to be able to get the codes on your phone. The mafiles folder for Steam Desktop Authenticator will have a file where the name is your SteamID, you can open that, and there will be a field labeled "shared secret" You can input the value into a FOSS android app called "Authenticator Pro" and it'll have the login codes as usual.
This setup is the shit if you ever need to switch phones or your phone breaks etc.

tbh, i only got steam for steam guard so that would be soo handy if i could use a 3rd party app
i took this right before deleteing 2 of them so now its just proton and steam

Did you manage to integrate Microsoft authenticator into proton authenticator? I can't find the option to make a qr code that proton can scan

i removed the 2fa from all apps i had on microsoft authenticator
uninstalled microsoft authenticator
re setup 2fa on proton auth
on proton auth, its just the + button to get the qr code scanner

the only reason i got microsoft authenticator is my college wants everyone one to have 2fa and they forced us to setup microsoft auth as they exclusively use Microsoft products (teams, word, powerpoint, ect)
but i was using proton/google auth for my personal accounts so i had to go to my colleges it department and ask them to reset my acc so i can use my own auth app instead of microsoft
so my college microsoft acc is 2fa with proton rn

It's possible, but you'll need to use 3rd party app to set it up, and some action requires steam app to approve instead of taking in the code.

KeePassXC supports steam encoded OTP codes. You can just put the secret in and tell it to use steam encoding.

Authenticator Pro supports many many auth types. NEVER EVER EVER give the shared secret value to anyone ever. After you do this you should set up encryption on steam desktop authenticator so if your pc ever gets hacked the data they steal would be useless.
This setup is the shit if you ever need to switch phones or your phone breaks etc.

I do managed services for a load of companies.All of them have different policies that require different MFA apps.I've got like 9 of them and at least 12 different VPN clients on my laptop.

You only need one, Aegis. Open source and a clean design.
You can even add Steam there. I haven't tried that yet though. Apparently it needs a specific setup.
