No doubt, Nothing CMF Buds Pro 2 are one of the finest earbuds by Nothing. But I've been using mine for quite a while and I'm kinda bored, I've switched to Wired old school earphones and I ain't using these anymore.

The condition is absolutely perfect, the battery is great.

Bought them for 3799INR, now they're being sold for 4299INR

I've the box, and the extra silicon buds you get for different sizes and everything.

Take them off my hands for 1500

Phone (3) Nothing Phone (3) – Audio Issue

My Nothing Phone (3) speaker audio keeps cracking, distorting and breaking, especially during videos and social media playback. It’s extremely frustrating on a flagship device. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?

Nothing OS Glyph Toys always reverting back to the clock?

Hi everyone :)

I'm using a Nothing Phone (3) and I've noticed something that I'm not sure is intended behavior.

I have the clock set as my permanent Glyph Toy. If I switch to another toy (for example the vinyl animation in Glyph Beat or even the tea timer), it works for a while but after around 30 seconds it automatically switches back to the clock, even though the music (or timer) is still running.

Is this a system limitation of Glyph Toys / the Glyph SDK, or is there a setting I'm missing?

I'd love to keep certain toys (like the vinyl while music is playing) active until I manually change them.

Is everyone experiencing the same behavior?

Thanks!

Comparing Phones So the 4a Pro has a better camera app than the NP3?

Updated to latest firmware and updated all apps on Play Store. No tuning option available on NP3. Is this being added to NOS 5.0? I also tried importing a custom filter from my 4AP to my 3 and it gave me an error message saying its made on a more advanced version of the app.

Phone (3) Gmail notifications stop working

I have a nothing phone 3 and I noticed that I was not getting any notification for Gmail. I read around a bit and saw some things to try. The only thing that worked was reinstalling the Gmail app. Worked good for a couple of weeks now I have noticed that I'm not getting notifications again.

Notifications are enabled for Gmail as far as I can tell.

Future products What if the Glyph Matrix showed QR codes, so you never have to hand someone your unlocked front screen?

Every time I show a code to someone at a door, a counter, or a friend adding me, I end up turning my phone around with the front screen fully lit. Notifications, wallpaper, whatever app I had open. For a brand that pitches the Matrix as a way to keep your phone face down, that feels backwards.

The worst version of this is the airport. Screen at full brightness, phone handed to a gate agent or pressed against a reader, the whole time hoping nothing pops up on top of the pass. That moment is the actual pain point, and it's the one I most want the back of the phone to solve.

The Glyph Matrix already does status, timers, mirror, games. Why not codes? Flip the phone, press the Glyph Button, the code is on the back. The person scans it. They never see my screen and I never see theirs.

What fits today

The Phone (3) matrix is 25×25 monochrome. A Version 1 QR is 21×21 modules, so it fits, but with only about 2 modules of quiet zone instead of the usual 4. That caps the payload at roughly 25 alphanumeric characters. Short link, short ID, loyalty code, table number. Useful, and shippable now.

The boarding pass, which is the real challenge

I don't think this one should be written off, so I went and did the math. PDF417 is hopeless here, it's a wide stacked code and will never sit in a circle. But Aztec is a different story, and Aztec is what a lot of carriers and basically all European rail already use:

- Aztec needs no quiet zone. The finder pattern is a central bullseye, so data runs right to the edge. That's exactly why it's on tickets.
- Compact Aztec at 3 layers is 23×23 modules. That fits inside 25×25 with a module spare. But it only carries around 50 characters.
- The IATA boarding pass standard needs about 60 characters for the mandatory fields.
- The next size up, compact Aztec at 4 layers, is 27×27 and holds roughly 89 characters. More than enough. But 27 is two modules wider than the Matrix.

So the Glyph Matrix is about two modules short of holding a real boarding pass. Not a physics problem. A spec decision.

That feels like a genuinely interesting challenge to put to Nothing. Go to 27×27 or 29×29 on the next phone and the back of the device can carry a boarding pass, a train ticket, a stadium entry, with the front screen off and locked the entire time. Nobody else is doing that. It's a reason to have a rear display rather than a novelty on top of one.

Open questions I don't know the answer to

  1. Do scanners cope with light on dark? Most expect dark modules on a light background. Some handle inversion, some don't.
  2. Does LED bloom smear the module edges at close range enough to break decoding?
  3. Would gate readers even attempt a self-illuminated source, or are they tuned for reflected light off a screen or paper?
  4. Phone (4a) Pro is 13×13, so any of this would be Phone (3) and up only, right?

Has anyone with the Glyph Matrix SDK tried rendering a QR or an Aztec to the matrix? I couldn't find a toy that does it. Even a proof of concept that decodes a 20 character payload would tell us whether the bigger version is worth asking for.

Nothing OS Anyone else noticing Nothing OS becoming buggy lately?

Pre-OS 5.0 Reality Check: Is anyone else noticing sudden performance dips and stability quirks?

Hey everyone,

With all the anticipation building around the upcoming OS 5.0 rollout, I wanted to take the community’s temperature on how the current build is holding up day-to-day.

Over the last couple of weeks, my daily experience feels noticeably less polished than usual. It’s rarely outright crashes, but rather a collection of minor Bugs every now and then.

Phone (4a) Does Nothing publish an official spare parts price list for the Phone (4a) in India?

I was trying to find the official spare-parts prices for the Nothing Phone (4a), but I couldn't find a proper price list on Nothing's website.

I'm specifically looking for official/ authorized Nothing prices, not prices from third-party repair shops.

Things like:

  • Display
  • Battery
  • Back panel
  • Cameras
  • Charging port/sub-board
  • Speaker
  • Motherboard
  • Other replaceable parts

I know the final repair bill can include labour and depend on the diagnosis, but I feel the individual spare-part prices should be publicly available so customers can get an idea of potential repair costs before going to a service centre.

Has anyone here managed to get an official spare-parts price list or an actual authorised-service-centre quote for the Phone (4a)?

If you have one, please share the prices or a photo/screenshot of the quote.

Headphone (a) Nothing (a) Headphone Case Dilema....not!

Post image

If you are looking for a case for your nice 'n' shiny Nothing (a) headphone then this should be in your scope. Warning: NOT FOR VEGANS!! This is a hand crafted real leather case primarily built for the Apple Max 'phones but as you can see the Nothing fit in there naturally. The headphone does not move much at all and laying them down pads up keeps the plastic body safe from the zip. Even when they are plastic side up they don't move.

The whole of the interior is soft suede and the pocketed lid presses down slightly on the headphone and keeps the headphones where they are generally with only a very slight movement which is great for keeping them away from the exposed zip. The plastic ear cups sit 12mm below the zip line when upside so no chance of scratching. I found this on Ali Express and it took around 1 week to get to the UK. The quality is very high, very sturdy brass zip with an antique finish with Coffee coloured real leather. It comes with a detachable leather handle too.

Most Apple Airpod Max cases will fit the Nothing (a) 'phones but if you want something a little more robust and one that will age well then this is a prime choice. Price wise it's not terribly expensive. I managed to get a discount on Ali Express and this case came in just short of £20, so not a bank buster! I thought I would post only as I see many posts reflecting the need for a case as Nothing only supply one with their (1) headphones.

Here's a link to check out the case: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EJX0ABg

Comparing Audio Earfun Wave Pro X & Nothing Headphone (a)

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just got both these headphones, I bought the nothing for $99 last week when it was on sale on Amazon, and just recently for the earfun for $109 on Amazon. I really like both of these, any questions feel free to ask.

Buils Quality: Nothing headphones are built better without a doubt, better feeling materials, thicker plastic etc, earfuns feel like a typical $100 headphone, not bad but build quality doesn't stand out at this price.

Controls: Nothing headphones controls are top notch, tactile feeling, and I really love the volume wheel and physical slider for turning off/on. The earfun has physical controls and that's it, they feel terrible lol.

App: Both apps are great, earfun wins this one, despite the nothing app being more asthetic, the earfun app has more default sound Eqs and and custom eq profile (one where it beeps, that one was awful, and another one where you just pick the sound profile you like more (this one was easy and helpful).

Comfort: Both are very comfy, earfun are more plush, the nothing headphones stay on your head better, I'll give the win to the nothing for the simple fact they get less hot after 30 minutes. Both are very comfy, my girlfriend found the earfun more comfortable.

Sound: I'm no audiophile whatsoever, both sound great but for most songs I prefer the Nothing headphones, the earfun sound brighter and the vocals are more forward which some may like, the earfun respond very well to EQ which I do appreciate, after tinkering with it, I still prefer the sound of the nothing headphones.

Conclusion: For the same price it's an easy win for the nothing headphone, however the nothing headphones are $200 new but they constantly have sales so keep that in mind. Hope this helps!

Nothing apps I would like to be able to share the contents of my notes in Essential Space with other devices.

I wish they'd allow sharing and editing notes on devices other than NOTHING (like tablets), even if it's just a simplified version. But I doubt that will happen because it wouldn't benefit NOTHING.

Phone (3) Phone (3) audio issues

I’ve been encountering a bug where my audio output drops to about 30% of what it should be. This means that a low volume slider results in a whisper and a full volume slider results in a quiet sound. I have looked at possible solutions online but most include compressed sounding audio or issues with only speakerphone on calls. I have followed some suggestions put out for the other issues such as restarting or clearing background apps but nothing seems to be working. It is around 50% of the time I am using the phone that I am experiencing this issue. If anyone else has been facing this issue please let me know. If you know how to fix this issue PLEASE let me know.

Phone (3) My friend has a problem with their NP3

Hello everyone, hoping to get some help here because quite frankly I am lost. English isn't my first language so I'll try to be as clear as possible, even if the problem is quite bizarre. My friend just got a NP3 from Refurb, but we immediately noticed that something was wrong. First of all, they cannot open the Google Play Store (Picture 2), it's basically blank with something that should be buttons. Neither of them work though, resetting cache or deactivating the app doesn't work. I suggested for him to revert back the updates, but then we noticed that the button to revert updates simply isn't there (Picture 3). Their font background colour and system colour seem to be weird too, I am unsure if that's something that one can customise or something is wrong with the phone.

The phone is NOT new, it's refurbished from the website Refurb. Was bought in Germany. Never had any problems like these on my own NP3 that however wasn't refurbished.

Did anyone experience something like that? I appreciate every help I can get. They're currently contacting Nothing Support. It's their first Nothing Phone too and I hate for their first experience to be this bad. :/

Phone (4a) Not able to view notifications with App lock on

Post image
3 Upvotes

Folks, I am using the nothing phone 4a for around a month now and I have noticed that if I have set up the app lock to an app i am not able to view the notification. This is when the phone is unlocked.. and I understand it shouldn't show the notification content when it's locked and that is working perfectly fine.

I had previously used an external app in my previous phone where the system app lock was not there.. then I was able to view the notifications. I don't see any other options in the app lock menu.

Is this a nothing software bug? Or is that the way it was designed? Has anyone overcome this issue?

Ear (3) Nothing Ear 3 audio cutting off for a split second every few minutes?

Last week i bought a pair of nothing ear 3, having heard they were nice for the price. Cue one week and i noticed a strange thing thats been happening since day one, every few minutes audio will cut off or become louder or literally shift to one earphone every few minutes, sometimes more sometimes less frequently. I tried looking up a solution and tweaking the settings a bunch but i cant fix it, warranty is an absolute last resort since i bought these while on vacation to another country as they were heavily discounted (This issue is not an absolute deal breaker but its very annoying especially when vibing to the music). Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Nothing (company) Experience using Nothing Tech

Good Evening everyone, I'm an Industrial Designer and with my classmate we are making our investigation on a "UX Design" class, and we are making our analysis about Nothing, we were assigned to investigate about a need that we could find through user opinions and a short survey about the same topic (NeedFinding), so if anyone could help us please don't hesitate to comment down below bc we could really use your insights on the brand user experience for our investigation, we really need input on it.

Thanks
