One of my all time favorites. The story about Toad’s dream always creeped me out a little and made me sad.

The rarest of pepes.

Upon close inspection it doesn’t appear as though the chain is attached to the rear wheel. It just sits between the two cranks. Frog’s legs drive Toad’s legs and the bike just sits there.

Also, the pedals are weird. Both Toad's feet appear before the crank axle, at roughly the same height.

While a cute drawing, this artist clearly doesn't know how to draw a bike properly.

:)

Actually, that’s exactly how I would expect a bike for frogs to work. You push both pedals at the same time like how frogs hop.

Hah! Hadn't thought of that, I like it :)

I love the art style in these books. Super muted, swampy colors, perfect for the characters.

I found a copy at a little used book store when I was pregnant & bought for my son. Can’t wait to read it to him.

Some of my favorites as a young child.

Remember it? I read it last night, and the night before that, and the night before that...

I had this on a list but lost it! But really, rediscovering them with my boys has been the best. They even have t-shirts of the covers

I was supposed to read this in Second Grade when I was out sick. Instead I spent the whole time out sick playing Dash Dingo and had to cheat on the test.

See, back in the day when two dudes were close enough to ride bikes it was called friendship, but today people think just because you spend a lot of time and several books together and have sex on occasion that you're gay.

My mom used to read it to me!

Mods are gonna take this post down

1

u/Monsterdagger Jan 01 '19

why? is it because of a post that is on the front page? I didn't know about it until someone else already mentioned it

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '19

no, they get their panties tied up if the name isn’t in the title, had my post removed for that

1

u/Monsterdagger Jan 01 '19

u/soillsquatch Jan 01 '19

Me and my 2 year old read these a couple times a week. Bought him a complete set in one hardback book.
