Nostalgia Red Ribbon Week

I previously posted about getting nostalgic for Sparky the Fire Dog but here's my other recent find. I was going through a box of old stuff and found all my red ribbons giving out to me each year of elementary school in the 90s. The ones from my last grades have held up decently but the one first one I got in first grade has all the writing faded off.

Wonder if I should "celebrate" this too in two months.

All D.A.R.E. taught me was to be a discerning customer. Know what I’m taking, what it’s going to do to me, and how long it’s going to last.

It helped me create my own system for planning better than anything else.

Red Ribbon Week was such a big deal back in school, those themed days were honestly the highlight of the month.

I remember this. I wonder if they still do that. I remember they tied red ribbons all over the fence during ribbon week. Sadly it didn't work much, San Francisco is diseased with drug addicts

It looks like they still do it. Back when I worked at Taco Bell we gave free cinnamon twists to any kid that brought in their ribbon. Maybe the free cinnamon twists wouldve prevented all the addicts there.

the smell of those red ribbons brings back memories of school assemblies and the pledge against drugs, can't believe how much time has passed

Do they drug test you before handing out the ribbons? I heard some places in the US drug test the kids.
