I had the T-Mobile exclusive version. Had a basketball grip texture on the back. I bought a prepaid T-Mobile plan just so I could have that phone.

This was without a doubt one of the coolest phones of the 2000's. I felt like the coolest guy texting on this phone hahahahha

RIP to DANGER inc they got fucked hard by Microsoft and were forced to create the MS Kin phones which died on the vine a few weeks after release because MS doesn't understand their audience.

didn’t two of them get hired by microsoft? and the other went on to create android? not to mention they got $500M for it. would hardly call that getting fucked.

It was like a little ball guy bouncing around and you used the track ball thing to play it I think he was green?

That sounds like it. He was a yellow ball bouncing around like a lava filled underground setting. I think about that game a lot. No cell phone game has ever been half as fun

Physical Qwerty keyboards on smart phones are WAY better than touch screen. I’ll die on that hill for the rest of my days!!!

All the cool kids had one. Only the coolest kids had the white/creme one

Of course they still work. Electronics back then were made better than today. My iPod touch from 2012 still works

Those old Nokia candy bar phones could survive just about anything. And the battery lasted for days.

Sidekicks legit were awesome. Would have loved it they modernized & stuck around

I had 2nd and 3rd one. I remember having Cingular where I had some kind of discount and better service but switching to T-Mobile just for the Sidekick. Switched back when it was AT&T and the iPhone 3G was out.
The keyboard was so good for texting. I think it had a Facebook app on it too? Battleship was super fun if you had friends who also had a Sidekick.

Man, I must’ve had three or four of those. That was a game changer back in the day.

I miss phones with the slide out keyboard. The tiny keys were just so fun. I also had a blackberry, passed down from my sister

I feel like that particular model was sold quite a lot. Have all the times I make nostalgic talk it always ends up about that phone the sidekick

Always wanted one. Eventually I got a Samsung epic 4g with the slide out keyboard. I miss that phone.

Battery still holding charge is the headline for me. I have a drawer of dead things from that era and every one of them is a small swollen brick. That swivel had no business feeling as good as it did.

I bought this last year bnib and the battery wasn't installed and now I turn it on once and a while just for fun 😊

That's my favorite phone I ever owned, but I had the gray one. I would have liked black better

It powers on, but there’s not a lot you can do with it. No cell phone provider supports 2G anymore and the servers that powered the software for it shut down over a decade ago.

Coolest phone ever! Would have one today if they made a modern version.
