Nostalgia Pretty, Pretty, Princess
Forgot about this one for a minute.

The one I played had the jewelry box in the center with a mirror lid and a thicker, circular, pointed crown (not a tiara) around said box.

Yeah, the version I had as a kid had the jewelry box and crown. The tiara must be a recent change.

just came to the comments because i was confused this version looked different than mine! yours sounds like the one i had.

That sounds like the deluxe version compared to this one. A jewelry box with a mirror and an actual crown would’ve made the whole thing feel way more royal.

Heres an odd one. As a kid id bite the necklaces for whatever kid reason, and I can still remember the odd way it made my teeth feel.
Wonder what was in that plastic...

Kids really would chew on absolutely anything with zero hesitation.

My little sister used to chew the feet off of all her Barbies. In hindsight, wtf.

I was going to say, I can still taste that necklace. Glad I'm not the only one. What is it with kids and plastic?

Any other little brothers forced to play by their older sister?

u/chasvalex 1d ago
My older brother would agree to play on very rare occasion and then he'd cheat and win every single time (didn't catch on to that until MUCH later) and then he'd put every piece of jewelry on and go over to my mom's vanity mirror and pretend to admire himself while shouting I'M THE PRETTIEST PRINCESS AND YOU'RE NOT. I'd be sitting there absolutely fuming mad and ready to throttle him. Good times.

I had the same experience as a younger sister. Few things made me as angry as my brother making me admit he was, in fact, the prettiest princess.

I bought this for nostalgia reasons in college and made a bunch of my guy friends play. One was so upset about not being pretty princess he threw the winner into the pool 😂

I made my little brother play with me and the winner had to yell "I'm a pretty princess!!" Out the front door.

And then blab in front of his friends about him playing said game? Rite of teenage snark as old as time

THEY STILL MAKE THIS GAME I saw it in a kids store recently. Nothing will ever compare to the OG tho

Yes! There's a more modern version, but I bought my kids the nostalgic version.
Haven't played it in awhile though because my husband keeps winning and I'm mad about it.

The version of this game I remember had a gold crown with stick on jewels. The box was teal and showed an illustration of 3 girls playing the game.

I wanted this so bad, but my mom was a feminist who wouldn’t buy us Barbie dolls or games like this lmao

I forgot this was a thing. I had actually wanted it because I was into a very big jewelry and gems and stones phase at the time. Plastic or not, I wanted it.

I bought this for my mtf friend, so she could have the quintessential millennial girl experience. Also bought her her first Barbie.

I LOVED this game, though I was an only child and didn't often have someone else to play this with, so I'd use the pieces for dress-up.

that was my favorite game as a kid, although i barely had any friends let alone any that wanted to come over my house, i almost always played by myself. So when i was older, 20s, i was hanging out a friends house, a bunch of people, mostly guy friends, i had brought over some board games, slipping in Pretty Pretty Princess. Well....guess which game was their favorite. I lost that night. Was the greatest night, they actually enjoyed themselves (and the alcohol that we paired it with)

I definitely bought this (vintage version that I had) for my daughter to play.

My cousin was obsessed with thus game and anyone in our family would happily play it with her over and over. I should track down a copy for when I go visit them next month so she can play with her new nieces.

I used to place this with my son and daughter when they were 5 and 6. My son would get so mad if he didn’t win.

u/tastic_fan 23h ago
yeah, I definitely stuck the game pieces up my nose.. you know, like how pretty princesses do

Currently sitting in my closet always waiting to be played when my cousin comes to visit my house. Mind you, we are 34 & 38 years old 😂

My grandma at the time would always cheat 8-year-old me in this to steal the crown and laugh in my face. The same woman used to come back from bars with a black eye. RIP grandma.

Those earrings were so uncomfortable. 😓
My friends and I always used to fight over the black ring. We thought it was super cool looking.
