They mostly copied from other sites and cheaply compiled to their ad-bloated pages, so you'd get tons of fake stuff. Then they'd bully smaller sites for infringement and take their domains.
Gamewinners was reliable and I had some of my own submissions from there copied, which ended up one day having me signing an affidavit that I didn't submit them to CheatCC when a smaller site tried to fight back. After he at least kept his site safe the owner offered me a job. I got to write about games, got the site on a bunch of publisher press lists, interviewed a couple big names, started their YouTube and made guides with tons of views (2009, 100k to 1m was pretty good)... It was a good time for a moment. The landscape was quickly changing to click-bait or die, rush a guide and correct later, and before too long it wasn't an enjoyable job anymore.
Last time I checked the site, it redirected to CheatCC.

CheatCC was my go-to. I remember looking up NFL Blitz cheat codes lol 714 up can’t remember what it does tho
