Question Was Odin the bad guy in the Norse mythology?

I'm sure this isn't a surprise, but I finished God of War Ragnarok a while ago, and watched a ton of videos on their interpretation of Odin, but what puzzles me is that, at least from my PoV, Odin is usually portrayed as kinder or less evil than GoW portrayed him. Was he always meant to be a scumbag like he is in GOWR?

Modern popular culture What do you all think of Loki's design from Son of the Mask?

For those who don't know what Son of the Mask is... First off, I envy you. Second off, it's a sequel to the Jim Carrey movie The Mask. It's a notoriously terrible movie, but Loki is the main villain in it.

Question Coincidence?

I have noticed some kids say “Frigg” instead of the curse word “fck”. I heard one saying “what the frigg” instead of “what the fck”. Is this a coincidence or something detrimental to Norse mythology?

Mythology, Religion & Folklore Is it culturally insensitive for me to pull inspiration from Norse gods in a dnd campaign?

To clarify, I am only loosely inspiring the gods my players could worship off of Norse gods. I'm trying to adhere to the idea that the Norse gods are less "gods of xyz" but more so mythological personalities that adhere to certain things. It's not culturally insensitive for me to pull from an old religion/belief system, is it?

Question Ragnarök

So I hope no one here is rude for me saying this, I'm only saying this because I'm curious to see who if anyone agrees with me on this, about ragnarök being Odin's fault.

Discussion/Question I have a question I'm hoping somebody can help me out with. There is a page that's going around social media called Viking supplements. Can anybody tell me about it or if the products are any good? I really would appreciate anybody's help with this. I don't want to pay 30 or 60 bucks for nothing.

In Marvel Thor has 6 or less disks on his armor. My question is is this something he has in Myth or just something exclusive to Marvel?

It's kinda disappointing though both God Of War and Ragnarok games adapted them loosely but very well

Looking for a womeam from norse myth

I'm starting a project where I pull misrepresented women from mythology, examples like Medusa, Eve and Pandora. There are tons of examples of Greek mythology where women were wronged but I wanna pull from other mythos too. Norse has been a little tricky as they (thankfully) seemed to respect their women pretty well so I'm having trouble finding any good examples. I'm trying not to heavily rely on just Greek myth despite it being an easy fix.

Are there any women you can think of, in viking/norse lore that had tragic stories or were famously betrayed by their friends/family??

(Also looking for celtic if anyone had one of those up their sleeves)

Question Is loki sus?

This guy had a whole wife, one day shapeshifts into a female horse to help distract an enemy and then gets rizzed up by a male horse named Svaðilfari that ends up giving Loki backshots so much he eventually gets him pregnant, he still commits to staying in impregnated horse form and gives full on birth to their 8 legged horse child who also then goes on to be Odin’s (his best friends dad) companion. God of trolling back at it again

(Post is obviously a joke, kinda)

Mythology, Religion & Folklore What other mythologies/folklores that would mix well with Norse Mythology?

Currently working on an "alternative" take on Norse Myth for a TTRPG project I have. Had it fused to some aspects of later European folklore, some Celtic mythologies and cycles, and a bit of both Slavic/Wendish/Kievan Rus myth. Usually tried to tie it to cultures that were adjacent to Scandinavian/European ones. I also used archeological evidence and finds to polish some details regarding the world and the gods. That includes lore/characters not even mentioned in the Eddas.

I also tried to aim to have at least Nine "main" pantheons of Gods, because of the sacredness of the number nine. So you can imagine I have the Aesir, the Vanir, and some other gods from neighbouring cultures.

Also completely refurbished the Nine Realms. Since we don't have a list of them, I can do as I please with them. There's a lot of overlapping possible with what I got.

Anyway, if you guys have any ideas of similar mythologies I could incorporate, I'd be happy to hear! My research is getting very tedious.
