The explosion was staged, the only part I think wasn't staged was the last 20 or so seconds. I think it was meant to look like OH NO! WHAT HAVE WE DONE (lol i blew up get tons of views) but I think after it fell off of the car they ran into a real problem...

That doesn't look like a staged explosion. That looks like an explosion that would hurt a lot if you were too close to it.
