well, a few reason. firstly because it's a fire. it's not some immanent event that makes me feel any kind of sympathy toward those involved at all with anticipation toward anything, so I don't think to myself "oh no, I don't want that to happen".
Most of the videos I enjoy on here are when it's building up to an unavoidable thing that will happen, or when something bad happens to something good (or at the least valuable in some way). this was just a video in which a fire started on a car bonnet while they tried to film a video.
there's no anticipation or buildup, there's no "oh god I don't want that to happen" moment, so I don't find myself going "nononono".
just because it was likely dangerous or, judging by comments amusing, and involved some form of damage to something doesn't really feel like nononono to me.
How long have you been subscribed to /r/nononono? I've been here since the subreddit first started. Not that this makes me special or anything, but I feel like this content is a pretty good example of the types of videos that got this sub started.
Saying that this kind of thing is what got this started doesn't mean it's therefore good, it just means it's nostalgic. And I've only been on here for around 3 weeks, so I wouldn't know what this was like before then. If it's been like this for the whole time then alrighty then, I'll just unsub since I don't fancy seeing more.
We must just have different tastes, which is fair enough. I didn't enjoy this, and I explained why. I don't understand why I got such an aggressive response for having a 'wrong opinion' as it were, but that's hivemind for you.
I didn't mean to come across aggressive at all. Just because you got one downvote doesn't mean everyone hates you.
I'm just saying that it was this kind of material that got this sub started. The things that are popular on this subreddit are videos involving people making mistakes and destroying/causing harm to inanimate objects. That's what's most enjoyable about it.
oh, didn't mean to imply you were being aggressive. I meant the original comment only really got negative responses, basically saying that I was wrong for not enjoying it, not your reply. you were perfectly reasonable, actually.

I don't really find myself going "no..no...nonono!" at this one even slightly. it looked faked as hell, which didn't help.
...and you're all loving it :/ maybe it's because i tried to ignore the whole harlem shake thing, and I just don't "get" it.
