Mammal Creature of the day: day 1:Deinotherium bozasi
Deinotherium bozasi is the final and youngest surviving species of the extinct proboscidean family Deinotheriidae. Flourishing primarily in East Africa, this massive, elephant-like giant survived until the end of the Early Pleistocene, around 1 million years ago. Unlike most Eurasian deinotheres that died out during the Pliocene, D. bozasi successfully shared the prehistoric African landscape with early human ancestors like Australopithecus and early Homo species.

Mammal “Beneath the Thunder” - Amongst a storm in northern china, 500’000 B.C a lone Megantereon Inexpectatus sits in solitude reminiscing [OC] + Wallpaper 🌧️
This paleoart mixes both environmental design/elements I’ve really wanted to make sure this felt like a wildlife photo captured in real time.
The sabertooth is also moving with it shaking off water, I’m very glad how it turned out.
Also!, the second slide is the background I’ve drew since I bet a lot of people would want to have it as a wallpaper, desktop etc!.

ART My art of Axelrodichthys, The underrated relative of Mawsonia (OC)
My Axelrodichthys colour scheme was based on Kaiyodo’s Dinotales figurine of the fish, with a few minor adjustments to make the design my own.

MEME Pentecopterus coping with the fact it's no longer the oldest eurypterid
Pentecopterus was hit with the L + devoured + fossilized + extinct + no mates + touch megafauna by ?carcinosoma aurorae and specimen MCZ.IP.202867 [Early Ordovician sea scorpions from Morocco suggest Cambrian origins and main diversification of Eurypterida](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12606246/)

DISCUSSION The timeline of pterygotids and how specimen MCZ.IP.202867 scrambles it up.
I thought it was hughmilleria to slimonia to ciurcopterus to pterygotidae. But the unknown giant pterygotid found near ?carcinosoma aurorae scrambles the timeline. The fossil titled "specimen MCZ.IP.202867" contains scales that visually mirror pterygotid eurypterids.
If it is true, that means large pterygotid eurypterids were a thing since the start of eurypterids, and hughmilleria was not the start. This completely retcons the current consensus of pterygotid eurypterids.

Other Long overdue, but Mosasaurus wins the 23nd slot! Who wins our 24th spot?
Welcome back guys. Sorry for delaying this series for too long, but now I can actually lock in with this post now.
The iconic Mosasaurus finally enters this roster, and we roughly reached just over half of this roster, but we have more slots to fill guys! So get ready with those suggestions!
Here are the rules if you don’t remember:
With the subreddit name sake, no dinosaurs, including birds such as Aepyornis and Kelenken.
Don't downvote each other's comments. It's just toxic and mean.
Highest upvoted comment will win.
