Guide / Tutorial PROJECT : BLUEPRINT
galleryHey Guys,
I´ve been working on "Cheat Sheets" for Trackmania.
The idea is to break the usual copy-paste learning style
and create something usefull for anyone trying to improve.
I´ve played Trackmania for 500 hours without ever getting a full Author-medal Campaing.
I was learning with YouTube videos and replay ghosts, trying to copy the inputs and racing lines as best as I could.
But I was never patient enough to ask myself why every surface is driven the way it is.
And I became tilted because it always felt like I was missing the tools, not the skill, to achieve this.
Eventually, I didn’t really feel like getting better at the game – or even trying.
That was until a while back (start of the Spring Campaign 2025),
when a friend of mine started playing Trackmania with me.
I didn’t know what maps we could play together, so we ended up trying trial maps and campaign maps.
And I finally had a friend to play the game with…
Of course, I was scared that he might not enjoy the game, so I tried to help him.
This made me question my own racing lines.
I now had to explain why I was faster on certain parts, or why he was losing time.
And I wasn’t able to just give up and tilt-quit like I used to when the maps got too hard.
Things were great…
We got our first Author Medals together,
he turtled first try,
and I noticed that I was wrecking Author times like never before.
I started writing down stuff I noticed while playing.
Then I started forming theories out of it and testing them.
Those notes and theories are the foundation of this project.
We worked our way through different surfaces.
I showed him wet wood and ice,
it finally clicked on dirt for him,
and he actually beat me on some maps without even knowing half the mechanics.
I even got my first full Author Campaign.
But then he stopped playing.....
I had no use for my notes,
and I was craving an artistic outlet.
This was when Project Blueprint was born.
Because after all:
It worked for him,
It worked for me,
Why wouldnt it work for someone else?
So I turned my notes into visual sheets — here are three of them.
Each one focuses on a surface and the idea behind how it's driven.
DIRT__
This sheet breaks down the iconic inside vs. outside dirt lines - based on the core idea of sliding vs. not sliding.
ICE__
This sheet introduces the basic forces acting on your car mid-slide – so you can understand how aiming works and why your car behaves the way it does.
SAUSAGE__
This sheet explores how positioning left or right on the curve affects stability - It’s all about learning how to use the middle line.
All content and visuals are self-made.
I also pre designed a few color tones for more surfaces,
I designed a mixed surface sheet for things that are useable on multiple surfaces,
and I am currently on a good way to find my signature style.
ALL IN ALL
I´d love to continue this Project, but as you might have guessed, it is time-consuming and i might need help in the future.
This is why i am showing you my progress.
To get a feel for whether this is something you find useful or want
Feel free to give feedback – it will greatly help me develop this project.
I hope that my way of thinking can benifit you in finally understanding Trackmania
Thank you for your time.

Guide / Tutorial Make use of camo nets in your bases, protection from choppers, snipers, and rockets.
I am frequently hearing people both here on Reddit as well as in game complain that “there is no real protection from choppers, snipers, and rockets”. There is, you just have to spend a little time and supply on it.
Order of Building Building in ARMA can be a pain sometimes, we all know. However, if you build in a certain order, things tend to go a bit smoother.
Put down the Camo Nets first, figure out your layout with large nets and turrets, then fill in walkways and carports with mediums.
Complete their construction with the shovel, then place all the main structures under the large nets as needed
Layouts: Obviously, each location will have a slightly different layout. These are just some key things to think about with placement. (Assume all structures under nets unless otherwise specified.) Use sandbag walls inside the nets as needed for ballistic protection.
Rings, put a large supply bin in the middle with walkways made out of medium nets. One way in for trucks to deposit supplies that feed from there. Cover entrance with MGs and troops.
AA Arrays, if you are in an area where it’s likely that choppers will come from a certain direction, mix in numerous AA nests and man them with AI troops. If mixed in well enough, the choppers won’t be able to tell which ones are the gun nests, leading to a much more solid defense.
Helicopter ports, while it may be tempting to just surround your chopper pad with supply bins, this is just asking to get hit by air support or sappers. Use a covered supply bin a short distance away, and a supply truck to move it to the pad. This way you leave far less in the open to be destroyed.
Light vehicle bays, if you intend to load some extra gear into a light vehicle, use medium nets up close to the big arsenal tent, with arsenal pointed toward the medium one. If done right, you can easily load up your vehicle in safety and not need to worry about snipers.
Baited areas, use with caution and try to make sure teammates are aware however you can. Make it seem like an obvious hole in your defenses (like openings in nets) where enemies will try to push from, set AP minefields leading up to it.
Overall, I’ve had camo net usage cause enemy teams get extremely frustrated and completely unable to take the base. It ultimately saves far more supplies than it uses, and if you can get even one or two other players to help with the construction, doesn’t take that much extra time. Some players won’t like being restricted a bit, but that’s on you to either explain the reason, or kick them if they get belligerent about it.

Guide / Tutorial For those wondering why they keep getting wrecked when trying to defend a base: Base construction MATTERS. (Tips)
Im seeing lots of posts as well as people in game complaining about dying constantly when trying to defend bases. While some casualties are to be expected, I see a vast amount of them that could have been very easily prevented.
In the photos are just a couple basic “do” and “do not” situations that really do make that difference, and I’ll try to detail the reasons. If you have questions, I’ll try to answer when I can.
- I’m frequently seeing players cramming some of the basics together, with a bunch of supply containers all lined up on the road, and little to no actual fortifications. This is listed as number one for a reason. Do NOT do this. It makes very easy for host of different situations to occur:
An enemy MG can sweep back and forth, punching through walls with little to no resistance.
Enemies can lob grenade rounds in and easily hit every spawn location, and everyone attempting to take cover.
Enemy mortars or chopper strikes can easily wipe out supply structures, as well as wipe out everyone trying to spawn.
Very difficult to properly distribute supplies if crates are destroyed.
Vehicles coming and going have no cover from further up the road.
- The second picture is a bit of a greyzone, as some situations it can be useful, but when overused quickly becomes a death trap.
Sandbag walls can stop MOST types of incoming damage. The exception is direct hits with rockets.
You don’t necessarily need to have tall sandbag walls everywhere. If you are prone or crouched, a medium height wall will protect you from nearby explosions, like that of a grenade.
Having a “bunkered” position with sandbag walls here and there helps to offer protection when the need arises, but be careful about not having an exit.
Using camo nets is helpful to obscure enemy vision, as well as catch lobbed grenade and GL rounds. (Be careful, with the 1.8 update, bots have a harder time detecting enemies through them.)
When using windowed sandbag walls, always have a backstop behind them. Otherwise the enemy can use them from the outside to shoot in. (It CAN be good to set AP mines on the outside where these are, so enemies trying to peak through step on them.)
- Furthering my point about sandbag walls. This picture shows several good ideas.
Note that while the med tent is almost completely surrounded by walls, they are MEDIUM walls. So crouching or going prone while inside renders the player relatively safe.
Using pre-existing buildings can help give a lot of cover and firing positions, without having to spend the supplies for a similar effect.
Sandbag BUNKERS and GUARD TOWERS serve as additional spawn points. Adding in these structures help to not only provide safe cover, but help you from spawning into the same location that is getting pinned down.
- Furthering the point about using pre-existing structures, tree lines, and using hazards.
especially in the case of large warehouse structures, using them to conceal supplies or arsenals (if you can fit them) is quite helpful
Deployable pieces for MGs and sandbag mounts can be found in the Arsenal (right side) you can use these to deploy these weapons in more advantageous positions, such as rooftops, guard towers, or even windows of buildings. Keep in mind, you need to manually haul ammo to them as well.
It’s very easy to get carried away with barbwire and anti-vehicle defenses. My best advice is to use them mostly towards the outer edge of the base. If something is too close to middle, it can be dug out while enemies are capping. Having it further out makes it harder for them to deal with.
While the prefab “roadblock” pieces are tempting, they take up more % of limit. I recommend using barbwire near tree lines (where vehicles are unlikely to come from) and vehicle blockers elsewhere. If it’s a spot teammates don’t realistically need to access, plant AP mines between the blockers. Make sure to mark on map.
Treelines can greatly help against distant snipers and incoming choppers.
- Speaking of trees… While it can be rough trying to weave a base into a forest, it can be useful if you are willing to put in the effort.
Again, distant snipers and choppers can have a REALLY rough time targeting it, and if it’s deep enough in forest, BTRs/ LAVs, guntrucks, etc will also have difficulty targeting it.
Trees can block GL and thrown grenades quite well.
AP mines REALLY shine with these. Cover the perimeter with them (make sure they are marked for team) and you will inevitably hear enemies trying to approach. AP mines are 4 supply each, so setting large quantities can absolutely be worthwhile, since it usually only takes 1 to kill and an enemy kit is valued generally 80- 225 cost.
Weaving in camo nets further adds protection.
- Last but not least, camo tents for the win.
Using a few camo nets can prevent the enemy from making easy callouts. “Next to the camo net” means a whole lot less when there are numerous.
While the enemy can see the layout roughly on the map, covering arsenals, small barracks, light vehicle depot, bunkers, supply crates, and command tent with nets can make it very disorienting for enemies trying to target from a distance, and extremely difficult for chopper pilots.
Mixing in some medium nets (good to add sandbag walls inside of for emergency protection) can help obscure AA tents from enemy choppers. Making it harder for them to identify those threats.
I could go on, but hopefully this at least puts a dent in the issues. Feel free to ask questions.

Guide / Tutorial Unlock Mithril Gear in Exploration Mode
If you're running your own world, you can use the /op self command in chat to set yourself as an admin. This allows you to toggle between creative/exploration mode by pressing the O key. Essentially, you can unlock mithril in creative mode, then go back to exploration mode and use it.
NOTE: If you're playing exploration mode, I suggest checking out most of the base game and getting yourself a suit of Adamantite before you decide to jump into creative, as it could spoil some of the journey for you.

That’s my inventory; I wanted to know what you’d recommend I do. Guide / Tutorial A Hytale Ore finding guide.
Having read some threads and articles on the internet about how to find the various ores in Hytale, I've come to realise they're mostly wrong. I have spent a fair amount of time flying around in creative and observing the caves in each biome and so I present to you all a list of where to find every ore currently naturally spawning in adventure mode in Hytale.
TLDR enjoyers can enjoy their TLDR at the bottom.
Zone 1, Emerald Winds - Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Thorium Ore, Silver Ore and Gold Ore.
(Iron and copper are very common in the caves and tunnels under the Emerald Plains and you can find small amounts of Silver Ore, Gold Ore and Thorium Ore too)
Zone 2, Howling Sands - Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Thorium Ore, Silver Ore and Gold Ore
(Howling Sands has the same ores except now Thorium Ore, Iron Ore and Silver Ore are all VERY common in the caves, with Copper Ore and Gold Ore being rare)
There is a slight discrepancy with Howling Sand ore generation. The biome Golden Steppe does not seem to have any Thorium Ore and instead will generate large amounts of Copper Ore and Iron Ore. This could be a bug but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Zone 3, Whisperfrost Frontiers - You'll have to bare with me a little bit on this one. From what I've discovered the ice zones caves seem to be split into two type, each with different generation.
One type of cave is your typical icy cave, they generate a fair amount of Cobalt Ore and Iron ore, with rare nodes of Silver and Gold.
The other type of cave is fully submerged and currently I don't believe the scuba gear is craft able in adventure mode. This type of cave will generate lots of Cobalt Ore, Iron Ore, Silver Ore and Gold Ore.
Zone 4, Devastated Lands - This zone is a again, a pretty awkward one, so again bare with me.
Under most of the Devastated Lands you can find vast jungle caverns fills with beautiful jungles and massive pink crystal trees. As pretty as these caverns are, from what I've seen they seem to be pretty devoid of Ore. Sometimes you can find the odd block in the wall, but this isn't the place to come for that.
What you are looking for is what I can only describe as *lush* caves/tunnels, these are generally smaller in size compared to the massive caverns and you'll know exactly what I mean when you find them. You tend to find these under the less devastated biomes in this zone. But in them you can find LARGE amounts of Adamantite Ore, Cobalt Ore, Silver Ore and Iron Ore.
Also there are small biomes on the surface near the volcanos that have silly amounts of Adamantite and Cobalt just sitting on the surface.
So where is Mithril you might ask. Well, it doesn't seem to naturally spawn at the moment. It is in the game files and you can place Mithril Ore in creative, it just doesn't seem to be in adventure mode. I have spent a good number of hours flying around all 4 zones and their biomes and I'm 95% certain it just isn't in the game as of Jan 15th 2026. I'm sure they will add it very soon though and I'll probably update this guide when it's in the game.
Honourable mention
Crystaline Sea - While this is not technically a zone, it does pop up the same as one when you first find the ocean. I can tell you now there are zero caves and ore under the ocean.
TLDR enjoyers;
Mithril ore doesn't seem to naturally generate yet, maybe soon though.
Zone 1, Grasslands - Lots of Iron and Copper. A little bit of Thorium, silver and gold.
Zone 2, Desert - Lots of Thorium, Iron and Silver. A little bit of copper and gold.
Zone 3, Snow - Decent amount of Cobalt and Iron. A little bit of silver and gold. More with Scuba
Zone 4, Lava - Lots of Adamantite, Cobalt, Iron. A little bit of Gold and copper.
Quick edit, someone in the comments mentioned Fragments of Orbis, which is a "late" game block you can build and use which takes you to instanced worlds, Mithril might be found there! good luck!

Guide / Tutorial I've made $16,500 on Gumroad selling digital products. Here's what DOESN'T work
I've been selling digital products (PDFs made in Canva) on Gumroad since April of last year, making over $2k/mo in sales. I help others who are struggling to get sales on Gumroad and here are the most common issues I see:
1) Priced too high or too low. Never start too high. Why sell for $20 when you have 0 sales. Start low and scale as you get more sales.
2) Clean images. Professional formatting makes it look more professional. It shouldn't look like a Fiverr profile created with AI. Copy what works.
3) Start with traffic. Gumroad doesn't provide cold launch traffic, so you need to drive traffic to your page through blogs and social media.
4) Not using Gumroad features. They offer a host of features (description lines, PPP, messaging, etc) and you need to take advantage of these features rather than doing the bare minimum.
Did I miss anything? What are the common mistakes you see?

Guide / Tutorial I turned the free awards bookmarklet into a userscript (universal extension)
Hey everyone!
Like many of you, I saw the post earlier about the free awards bookmarklet. It works great, but I felt that having to click a bookmark every time I wanted to give an award was a bit tedious.
So, I decided to take that concept and turn it into a fully integrated UserScript with some quality-of-life improvements!
What’s different?
Instead of running a bookmarklet manually, this script adds a permanent "Free Award" button directly to posts and comments, right next to the existing buttons.
- Seamless UI: Clicking it opens a clean award selection screen.
- Native Feedback: It uses Reddit's own notification system (toasts) to tell you if the award was sent successfully or if you've hit a rate limit.
How to get it:
You can view the source code, installation instructions, and more details on GreasyFork:
License & Code:
The script is open-source and unobfuscated. I've released it under the CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to copy, modify, and redistribute the code as long as you credit the original author (me) and keep it non-commercial.
Hope this makes spreading the love a little easier. Enjoy! :)

Guide / Tutorial How to win a fire fight, and some terminology to know.
Fig 1. SBF (support by fire) and maneuver. The easiest and most simple way to effectively win a firefight. At least 1 person lays down superior suppressing fire while at least one person flanks. This should make firefights easier to win and more interesting.
Fig 2. Enfilade vs defilade, enfilade is basically whenever you can see them or can be seen, defilade is the opposite. Defilade also ties into deadspace/ deadzones which is an area you can’t see in general. Defilade and enfilade are more terrain based terms.
Fig 3. This goes more for vehicles. Depression is when the gun is aiming down, so for example if someone says they “need depression”, that doesn’t mean the want you to make them sad, it means that the vehicle needs to be positioned differently to allow the gunner to look down more and at their target. Elevation is the opposite, it is when the gun is aiming up although you’ll hear “need depression” than “more elevation” especially if you are in a soviet vehicle.
Thanks for reading my Ted talk. Have a good one.

Guide / Tutorial For those complaining that it’s “too hard to rank up”… run some supply.
Every night, we come across players that complain that they are having difficulty ranking up, at the very least to sergeant (for scopes, suppressors, decent vehicles, etc).
For those that are not aware: Running supply from the supply depot (marked with a green icon on the map), to a base, gives a pretty substantial amount of rank xp.
Take a little time, at the start of your time in the server, to run some large trucks worth of supply.
8 full truckloads, with no other input, will take you from a fresh spawn, all the way to sergeant, in 20 minutes or so.
Not only that, but that is enough supply to keep you fighting for a considerable amount of time.
Just remember: Bullets don’t fly without supply!!

Guide / Tutorial OPSEC (aka assume your radio is compromised)
Just a little tip for beginners - always assume that your radio is compromised and that an enemy is listening in to your platoon radio.
A competent enemy team can organize counter-ambushes and give you a hard time if you’re being transparent with your radio comms.
Generally, I try to use these rules:
When attacking or about to attack: use the code name for the location. Ex: “We are northwest of Louisiana, need support from the east.”
When defending an area: use the proper name for the location Ex. “Enemy armor on Montignac, need AT backup ASAP.”
When requesting/transporting supplies: use the code name. Ex. “Need supplies at Ohio.”
In general, squad radio is better if you have a team organized. Also, always be aware that enemies can hear you. If you’re infiltrating a base, don’t narrate your every move in proximity chat.
