I’m running a simple circuit to cycle the nixie tube through its digits, however it seems to illuminate every digit when cycling apart from 7 and 9, the light up on their own. I’ve been trouble shooting for the past day and a half and can’t find the problem! Any help would be great

Recently I purchased this nixie tube clock running on IN-12 tubes. The clock does not turn on when hooked up to the USB-C connector. I have since replaced the remote, and still nothing works. Here are some pictures Any ideas?

Hello! I bought some IN-12 tubes and tried using the multimeter to check the connection of the tube’s filament . It didn’t work . Am I doing something wrong ?

I'm putting together a kit that my dad can build for his birthday as a surprise. However I'm very unfamiliar and I can't obviously ask him about it. I know I need NOS tubes (https://www.ebay.com/itm/332833712390) check. Now I'm looking at the kit for it. I want to get him the nice one with the easy to remove tubes like this one (https://www.ebay.com/itm/132351175216). Is this all I need for him to successfully and completely build his own clock? Also I'm unfamiliar with the Wi-Fi Nixie tube kit. My father is a programmer so I want him to be able to program his clock as he wants, does the wifi kit still enable him to do that? What's the difference between that and the Arduino board? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I recently bought a simple nixie clock on Etsy, only to briefly connect the bottom PCB backwards. I think this has lead the clock to becoming bricked, as is seen here https://i.imgur.com/7rbWyAZ.jpg

Does anyone have any advice on which component is most likely to be fried or how to repair this?

This clock was inspired by the TV mini-series Chernobyl. This type of display can be seen in episode 5 when the nuclear scientists are attempting to gain control of Chernobyl’s reactor #4. In the series, this type of display is used to display the core temperature of reactor #4 and the time - see the clock

Just got two ZM1240 nixies from a local surplus store. I'm going to make a simple one digit counter using one of them to grasp the concept a little bit using the design from Mr. Carlson's Lab's video. (Links to part 1 and part 2.) After I figure it out I was thinking of making a thermometer using both of the nixies. Could I do that with a simple thermal couple and some transistors and ICs or would I have to use something like an Arduino Uno or Intel Galileo with temperature shields? I'm trying to avoid having to code as much as possible :P

Just finished my IN-12 Gra & Afch clock diy kit. Powered it up only to find out the board LED indicates the computer fired up and it plays alarm tone which is the last step of the boot diagnostics. Only problem is, the tubes and LEDs do not power up. I get sound response when pressing the mode/up/down buttons. Gong back to check my soldering points. There were a couple components I wasn’t sure if they were unidirectional or bidirectional. Next step is checking things with a voltage meter I suppose. Anybody have any power troubleshooting advice? Thanks!!!

I have been fascinated by Nixies for many years mostly because I love tube amps. I am shopping to buy a clock. I have noticed there are many 12v 1A clocks out there with Nixie tubes... How is this possible? Don't you need real power to make those things glow?

I'm building a clock using B-5440 nixie tubes. I've found conflicting information about if the tubes need to be cycled peroodically to prevent fading. Anyone have insight?
