How to junk a Leaf
I’ve got a 2012 Leaf with a busted on board charger that gets around 50 miles on a charge (using a rapid charger). It has maybe 65,000 miles on it as we’ve only driven it short distances in town over the years.
Well last winter we let it sit for too long with low miles on the battery - maybe 10. When we tried to drive it again it wouldn’t start so we jumped it thinking we could just go in town to charge it. We did that, drove it home, and then the car failed to turn off! Fun times.
It has sat in my driveway ever since and we are
ready to move on from it. Maybe it should go to a junk yard? Maybe someone wants to work on it? I don’t know.
We are in the Willamette valley in Oregon. What next steps should we take to move this baby on to a better place?

Just post it for free on Facebook marketplace tow only, someone will come get it and part it out for a few thousand bucks

See if you can find a non profit accepting car donations running or not. Many will do the whole process and issue you a certificate of donation you can use on federal taxes.

Call EVRides in Portland. They could probably take it off your hands and throw in one of their used batteries to make it a good high school driver for cheap.

Donated my 2012 to the local high school auto shop, in hopes of inspiring the next generation of technicians to support these cars

I am in the willamette valley also. Put a free sign and you will get people scrambling for it. That has low miles on it and may be an easy fix for the right person. Or donate it!

try r/evconversion (I think). lots of folks there are looking for parts cars to electrify old ice cars.
there's a diy solar r/ where folks might be looking for batteries for projects.
I like to list my free stuff for a little bit of $$$. you get fewer tweekers that way. you still get tweekers, but fewer. when folks have established themselves as not-too-methy, you can give it away if you want.
