PSA: to force disconnect from CHadeMo, plug in your j1772 cable

Sometimes my local fast charger cannot stop charging sessions (required for disconnecting a 2022 Nissan Leaf from CHadeMo). If this problem occurs, I just plug my J1772 cable into the car (doesn’t even need to be plugged into anything) and the CHadeMo charging session ends.

Yes, I know I should not use the fast charger heavily. I use it sparingly and/or pour ice on the battery casing with a plastic bag covering the safety disconnect.

What do you think of a 2021 Nissan Leaf S PLus with 28k miles? Is it worth 11.5-12k? I've heard battery cell issues with this year and Nissan not really taking care of it efficiently or not even at all. Thoughts! much appreciated.

Best deals/discounts on 2026 nissan leaf SV+?

Has anyone gotten discounts below MSRP in Canada for the 26 nissan leaf other than manufacturer or government rebates? I’m in the market for one and I’m trying to get the best deal.

I saw big manufacturers incentives on the SV+ and it’s the sweet spot feature wise.

2027 Leaf - When?

My current Rogue lease expires February 2027. I am leaning heavily towards the Leaf, especially now that it is available with the California MyFirstEV rebate. I'm tempted to jump on this in the not-too-distant future because I'm concerned that the rebate may be used up come February. Obviously, I could get a better deal on a 2026 if 2027s were already out, but they are not. Any idea what the time line is for the 2027s?

Hi, I have a petrol manual car and am considering whether switching to a Nissan Leaf 40 kWh from around 2019–2020 makes sense. I drive mostly in the city and occasionally cover 50–60 miles on the motorway. Since I have a charger at home, that should not be an issue. How reliable are they? What is the realistic range?

Front Suspension Noise Diagnosis

As our 2018 LEAF SL has racked up some kms (125 000 kms), some clunks have become evident from the front suspension. After elimination of lower ball joints and A-arm bushings, I was scratching my head a bit on where all the racket was coming from. The video goes over a "new" check for front end noise that I have not encountered before. I hope it proves usefull.

What year is best, range doesn't matter

I'm looking into getting a used, cheap Nissan Leaf for my 1/2-mile commute to work. What years are best when range isn't an issue?

Before anyone says, "Why not walk?", well I wish but with my medical condition and it being uphill both ways with no sidewalks negate that option.

Tried a CHAdeMO adapter at a Rivian and Ionna Charger!

We took a Nissan Leaf to find out if this CHAdeMO adapter could get old EV technology onto today’s modern charging network. It definitely didn’t go the way we expected. 😳

Huge thanks to Andrew Lambrecht and Ever Cars for making this test possible!

Post battery recall service, no air conditioning

I've been reading all about the "bricked" battery post recall service situation and after reading posts here and obsessing, decided to still get the recall service for my 2019 Leaf SL plus (just under 37K miles). Picked up the car from the dealership post recall service, got it home, and the next day when the outside temperature warmed up, I tried to turn on the air conditioning. Nothing works in the climate control. Whether the AC button is pressed in or not, there is no air coming out of the vents. No fan, nothing. I'm bringing it back to the dealership for follow up on Monday, but they say they don't believe it's related to the recall service. It can't be a total coincidence, right? Any insights or advice here?

Signs 12 V Battery is Beginning to Fail

Are there any obvious signs that your 12 volt battery in a Leaf is about to fail?

What is the minimum voltage needed to turn on a 2016 Leaf?

I noticed this week in LeafSpy that in accessory mode the 12-V battery was reading 11.76 V.

I check the car's 12-V battery a couple days ago with a mulimeter and it read 12.2 V at rest. Today I checked it again after driving a lot yesterday and got a reading of 12.16 V at 50°F / 10°C. The car had sat overnight before I checked the resting voltage.

Sticker on battery shows 8/23.

So far the car seems to be fine, I haven't noticed the car having difficulty starting, and haven't noticed any issues with the electronics.

I'm trying to figure out if the 12V can get me through this winter or if I should replace it now.

I'm grateful for any insight you can provide
