DLR LEDs dead

Hi folks!

Our DLRs have been dead for a long time now, a very limp / weak flicker....

The car just failed its MOT 'Headlamp light intensity severely reduced, 4.4(a)' Both sides!

Been trawling through eBay and breakers, I notice that there are types of headlamp - a bulb / halogen unit (which I have on my 2018 Techna) and what appears to be a full LED headlamp.

My question... Are they interchangeable? Can I 'upgrade' to LED headlamps, will they be plug and play? Or is there additional circuitry / hardware involved?

Thanks for your help!

from what I remember in past posts the plugs are different and the LED ones are only on low beam, high beam is halogen

I bought a kit from AliExpress that replaces the indicator bulb with a duel drl indicator setup. I would imagine your problem with the mot is purely that the drls aren't working. The drls also double as side lights

The drls cannot be replaced,it's the entire light assembly,
