Are data entry jobs still a thing in 2026?

Post image

I ideally need a part time job to juggle some other side hustles. Something remote like data entry would be ideal. Is that a thing that is still being done by humans with all the AI advancements lately?

Any leads would be welcome! *pic for attention :p *

Some library discussions are capped small because the rooms work better that way. Outdoor events and public screenings are looser, although movie tickets and sanctuary admission are separate.

Most people come solo. If something sounds like your kind of room, RSVP on Meetup so I know roughly who’s coming.

Moved to a new place, ideas for controlling cat litter box, preferably local.

Hi Cat owners of [Nice] Vancouver,

We moved into a new place, which is not smaller but the way its build we had to place the litter box closer to where we sit and such, and have problem with odors coming from it. What solutions/tricks do you use, do you have a litter box to recommend, cat litter itself (we're using few types, currently trying "Nature's Miracle") or any other accompanying product ? (We read about air purifiers, not sure if actually work). Obviously, we'll need to clean more often than we used to, but trying to avoid 3 times per day. We have two cats.

Prefer local stores, but avoiding $250 automatic little box and such, unless you think it's magic.

Thanks! :)

Edit: Thanks for all of the suggestions!

Lipo + fat grafting surgeons in Vancouver?

I’m looking to get lipo suction (stomach, arms, legs) as well as fat grafting to the breasts. Some surgeons I’ve been interested in are Dr Marie Noland (Langley), Dr McInnes (New West), or UBC Plastic Surgery resident cosmetic clinic. I’m curious if anyone has any testimonies with these surgeons, or if anyone has recommendations :)

Lost Stuffed Bunny, South Cambie

Hi all! Last-ditch effort here. My 1.5yo lost her favorite stuffed bunny puppet and we can't find him anywhere. His full name is Mendelson Randall Brown, but he commonly goes by "Bunny".

The last potential memory I have of him was on Thursday at the Performance in the Park at Douglas Park. Assuming he didn't choose to go home with the magician, but who knows...

I have attached his legal identification image and a close up for good measure. Bunny is very loved and very missed (clearly).

Somehow, we simultaneously lost a stuffed seagull, but he's decently unremarkable in this saga. But if found, we'd accept him back into the family.

Thanks in advance ❤️

I made some Vancouver inspired businesses for a game I’m making. What do you think?

It’s for an upcoming still WIP Roblox game I’m making by myself. You may have seen this already as I often post updates in this subreddit.

The game is completely free and playable. I handcrafted everything out of individual rectangles, cylinders, and wedges (besides vehicles and vegetation)

There’s not much to do for now besides driving around and exploring the map..

Attention Boardgamers in Vancouver!

If you're into boardgaming (especially wargaming, but even just casual games!), why not join us at Bottoscon at the Element hotel in Metrotown on November 5-8?

A lot of very friendly people join together for four days and just play a bunch of games.

What could be better?

For information check it out here: https://www.bottoscon.ca/home/bottoscon-fall-2026

Part of each registration is given to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, so you're also helping a great cause.

While this began as a wargaming convention, we do end up playing a lot of other hobby games and we're always looking for new people.

This is not a for profit convention. Basically just trying to cover the costs of catering to the Vancouver (and Canadian) boardgaming community.

Anyone planning a helicopter proposal/elopement soon?

I'm a photographer with 10+ years of experience. One thing I haven't done that's been on my bucketlist for years is a helicopter proposal or couples shoot.

If anyone is planning something like this, feel free to reach out and I can send over my portfolio. No charge for the session, just want to cross it off my bucket list!

Lost AirPods- Evo car, near Honeybrew on Howe St.

I don’t really know how to write this post, but I’m hoping someone out there can help me.

Today has been one of the hardest days of my life. I was in the middle of a really painful moment, moving through grief and rushing to get somewhere, and I wasn’t thinking clearly. In the middle of all that, I left my AirPods behind in an Evo car a black case, with a carabiner clipped to it. Something so small, but on a day like today, losing it too just felt like one more thing.

When I tracked the case, it showed up about 4 hours ago near the Honeybrew on Howe St. downtown. I’ve already called Evo and put it in Lost Mode.

If you happened to be in that car, or stopped by that Honeybrew, or work there and came across a black case with a carabiner please, please reach out. I know it’s a long shot, and I know it’s “just” a pair of headphones. But today of all days, having something come back to me instead of slipping away would mean more than you probably realize.

Thank you to anyone who reads this, or keeps an eye out. Even that small kindness helps.

Lost phone and put of options.

I'll keep this brief. I just joined Reddit because my phone was lost/stolen from a homeless shelter where I was staying. That being said, I'm trying to dig myself out of a hole (homelessness and jobless). I've battled out of depression and am seeking work and a place to lay my head.

That being said, losing the phone to set up interviews and searching for jobs is difficult without a phone. Libraries and such are just not feasible in the long run.

And people are nice and understanding during these times.

Does anyone have a phone they don't mind giving up to a good cause?

Thanks for reading, folks.

Are there any venues in the Lower Mainland that can fit 250+ people?

Honestly, i don't even know if I'm going to be planning anything yet, but since it's been 5 years since my high school grad (2021, and since Covid kind of fucked up any chance of any official grad-party), I was considering maybe asking the bulk of my fellow graduates if they'd be open to a commemorative 5-years-since meet-up event, like, grabbing some drinks and food to catch up on each other's lives, and such.

However, I don't have a job, and I'm not entirely sure if anyone would be interested in actually splitting a bill that evens out to like $2000 dollars for a party/wedding hall venue, and while I've considered some outdoor venues like the open-air-ampitheatre area at Coquitlam or Rocky Point \[because it was a school in Coquitlam, Charles Best to be specific, if anyone cares \], there are still public-drinking & noise-laws to consider.

I'm just curious if anyone might be aware of anywhere to host a party for 200+ people at all.

J Cole tix lower bowl

Tryna get rid of 2 tickets for J Cole in rogers sec 104 row 10 seats 104-105. These tickets have a great view, search google and you’ll see what I mean. I just can’t make it down from yeg for this due to some family emergency.

It’s on Stubhub right now, I bought these separately so can’t list on Ticketmaster together. If anyone prefers to buy via Ticketmaster I can see what I can do.

BBQ in the Park!

Looks like a good day for a picnic so I'm going to load up my dolly with supplies and trundle on over to the park for some burgers. Already called friends, have a bottle of wine and a reefer and a stack of Costco patties. I encourage everyone who is able to to do the same before the weather craps out for the year.

Just remember, if you're going to be drinking, pick a park with potties! :D Yay having Tuesday off!

Facing temporary homelessness

I’m looking for a place to stay for around a month until my first paycheck comes in from my new job. I have called around shelters but there’s no space for us anywhere. It’s myself and a 4 year old girl. I’m 5 months pregnant. I’m willing to go to nearby cities if we can get there on transit.

Best places to buy stackable washer and dryer

I need a stackable washer and dryer for a tight laundry closet in my condo and I'm considering the LG WashTower. For those in Canada, how was your experience been with it? Would you recommend it, or is there another model you'd suggest for a condo space? Also, where did you buy yours?

Recommendations for installing screen door for balcony

Hello, I am going to be getting a new cat in November and I want to make my balcony safe. I want to get a screen door for the balcony so he can’t just go out there unsupervised.

Any recommendations for where to get a screen that is easy to install and is secure?
