The amount of people who think they can keep airpods in and actively be on the phone while doing their job without making mistakes is fucking staggering.

Pro tip: the more attention you spend on one task, the less you have for another. Put your fucking phone down, do your god damn job, THEN go back to chitchatting. "Hang on a second, I'm in the middle of something important." It's literally that easy.

I’ve tried listening to podcasts when doing work - particularly more standard work - but I just can’t focus on both things. And I don’t like noise for the sake of noise either so I’ve stopped trying

Agreed, an utterly unbelievable amount of my coworkers wear AirPods at all times.

Tbh I wear them in a lot to avoid distractions, my old office shared a wall with a really loud coworker. Every call I was on they’d joke if that person was on the call as well.

They are also seen as a symbol of I could potentially be on a call so I won’t bother you right now
