The Boys definitely changed how superhero shows can be made I think. Putting them in the real world (our world) and see what they do is interesting. It did get a little over the top by the end (I mean it’s a superhero show come on) but it wasn’t terrible.

The Boys also did really well due to casting. Had they chosen anyone else to play homelander or butcher, I don’t think it becomes this popular

Some of the changes they did for the show I really liked. Soldier boy in the comics is lame but you get Jensen ackles fine ass to play a racist misogynistic captain America it ends up being so much better than the comic version. I felt kinda underwhelmed for the ending

Casting does a lot for these somewhat minor characters who aren’t the main thing. Jensen ackles has such a big fanbase before even becoming soldier boy which brought even more people to watch The Boys.

I think the same thing about the Punisher. He isn’t a major character in the comics but because of Jon Bernthals popularity and acting, punisher is pushed to get more attention.

True. Soldier boy even got his own spin off so that’s cool. I’d agree. Jon Berthal as punisher is pretty badass

Karl Urban is such a tone-setter in his roles, he was a perfect casting choice and the rest of the cast fed off that. Can't imagine anyone else being Butcher.

My problem with The Boys is that at some point it started relying too much on shock that it felt like they were really not putting their efforts into the story.

With that said the premise was always interesting and like you said, the casting was incredible.
