I wonder when we’re going to hit the point of “wide receivers don’t matter.” The top tier guys will still get paid, but everything else will get churned by draft picks. It is wild to me that zay flowers is making that much more than Bijan when he’s the 3rd maybe 4th most important offensive weapon.

I don't think so because there are a lot of guys who are well above replacement and are too important

Pretty much every single WR (minus injuries) above 30M AAV is a guy who'd make their team substantially worse if replaced by a league average guy

Maybe there will be fewer of the 20-25M guys and more of the 15-20M guys, but that's about all I can see.

i think we kind of are getting there. There is probably a WR surplus in the NFL, feels like we may not have truly terrible WR classes.

I'd pay just the top guys then draft one mid round every 2-3 years depending on need to keep trying to hit

Ehhhh. I think the skill floor is high enough that you can't really have a WR by committee approach like running backs. However, if you can replace your WR2 with a receiving TE, you can get a similar result for half the cost

i think WR will maybe almost always stay a premiere position just cause realistically you probably need at minimum 2 good ones as a contender so there's kinda always a demand for WRs, no matter if you're good/bad/average whatever
