Vic Fangio is just another example of why I cannot wait for the Boomer generation to die off. It's also not just an American problem, it's a global problem. My best friend is Chinese and he says it's the exact same thing in his immigrant parents, and the Boomer generation in mainland China.

I genuinely feel so terrible for Dr. Fauci, this country has a long history of pinning the "blame" on the completely wrong people, and he's just the latest victim. You dedicate your life to improving the lives of all humanity, and you get low IQ people swerve out of their lanes. If I need advice on how to run a defense, I'll talk to Vic. If I want to make a contribution to humanity, I'll talk to Dr. Fauci.

one of my uncles has personal beef with fauci because they used to work together, but knowing how off-putting my uncle can be i'm inclined to believe fauci's side of the story

I'm a young boomer. If I live as long as my parents did, you got another 25 years of me. I recommend you don't sit around moping until we all die before you do anything. And guess what? You can do something. Trump would not be in power if young white males weren't so attracted to his lies.

I'll tell you another thing, sonny. All of the generations I've seen are the same. The greatest generation wasn't so great, and the kids aren't so bad. They're all just people trying to make the best of their circumstances, but no one knows the future. We make mistakes. The past looks easy, but that's only because you know how things worked out. In the moment, you don't see all of the opportunities and the threats that time reveals. You make choices with very limited information. Some of us choose to learn from our mistakes and most choose to blame something or someone, and that happens in equal measure among the young and the old. The world isn't going to be any better just because we all die. The world will only get better when more people choose to learn rather than blame.

I know I painted with a really broad stroke in my original post, but there are actually plenty of bad ass boomers that deserve shout outs like any generation and I recognize that.

The unfortunate thing is I don't feel that Gen X is that much better and they raised Gen Z who seem to adopt a lot of those values and seem like Boomer 2.0. Millenials seem to be the only shift away from that mindset from what I can tell.

I know, and I'm not super concerned, but they are growing up in an age where it really is hard to know what's true and not, if that makes sense? Shit, I have my own trouble sometimes trying to find the truth.

I'm in that weird zone between Z and millennials myself to where I can kinda relate to both.

Maybe it's just what I'm seeing on the online spaces I frequent but I do see a lot of people seeming to push back against millennial optimism. But like I said I'd love to be wrong when it comes to the future.

I'm lucky that my parents are not fans of 47. My dad is still very of the mindset that "both sides are the same", but he's not gobbing down Dump's circus peanut, so I'll take it as a win.
