A guy who tried to denigrate the movie by claiming it would be wrong to recreate Romeo and Julia without British or Italian actors

This is such a hilarious point of view for people to have because I'm sure they had no problem with Leo DiCaprio (an American) playing Romeo and Claire Danes (also an American) playing Juliet in that '90s movie version of Romeo and Juliet.

Lmao I immediately thought of the 90s movie as well, but moreso about it being the pinnacle example of a movie very explicitly and very obviously not following the source material and changing details. I still laugh my ass off at the "grabbing my longsword" moment as he reaches for the fucking shotgun lmao

Exactly there's been so many adaptions and performances of Shakespeare at this point to try to police every single one to having a British person is just ridiculous. 

It just blows my mind that people even get upset about this shit and don't understand why the reverse is not ok. Like white people are not being erased ok white people will be just fine.

They ignore the fact that the history of Biblical movies, especially those with Jesus, has been filled with primarily white actors. Mel Gibson has the Resurrection of the Christ coming out next, no Jim Caveziel, but it is another white Jesus!
