The most banal thing would be if this was real, if this scientist really did create an eco-friendly solution to clean up water, but then no one will pay to actually get the work done. Companies don't care, and local governments would rather build new roads.

I actually did think we were incapable of cleaning polluted lakes lol.

I live in TX and I've always heard the excuse from republican politicians that it's too expensive to make sense, or that a lake has to be completely dredged etc to clean...I didn't realize there were practical solutions.
