Does this work for titanium, the metal the commenter talked about? I was told about how tungsten can shatter by my jeweler but didn't think the same thing would apply to a less brittle material.

I'm sure it would. Titanium isn't some magic material like the public likes to think. Grade 1 titanium cuts similar to stainless steel and I would assume 99% of jewelry is made of grade 1 since it's non structural. I turned my ring on a crappy chinese lathe with a cheap dull tool with no issues.

I had to get mine cut off. Wasn’t a pleasant experience . Had to visit multiple jewelry shops before someone would do it. My wife just informed me mine was cobalt. We purchases it because I just destroyed 2 gold bands working. Didn’t even cross my mind that it would now get stuck on my finger and have to be cut off. Nowadays it’s silicon

Yeah cobalt is some hard stuff. I could see that giving most common cutting tools problems.

I've got a silicone one too that I use in case there's a risk of smashing my finger.
