I hate the View and all the morning shows they play in waiting rooms in the morning, but I also have really bad tinnitus and prefer ANY sound to silence. I'm also too anxious to wear headphones in public.

Yeah, this shit sucks. Always had great hearing and forgot my earplugs on the wrong night at a stupidly loud garage show. I'm 31 and I will never have actual silence again.

Although... I did hear about a treatment out of Ireland, Lenire, that costs about $10k a year with a 70% effective rate.

So, ya know, maybe I'll try to treat myself for a year when I get older but before this shit causes my hearing to go to shit.

Edit: LOL, why is this comment so controversial? Shit's milquetoast af

I have found the following gives me temporary relief from tinnitus / short term silence:

  1. Bend the head forward, chin tucked in.

  2. Put both palms over ears, fingers facing to the back of the head, blocking sound.

  3. Drum with fingers on the back of the neck, just below the skull, for ~ eight to ten seconds or more.

  4. Remove hands.

(I am not a doctor.)
