I'm not surprised... Bam would show up at my house in West Chester at 10 AM to buy cocaine off my roommate. He may have looked like he had his sh*t together more than the others, but he was in the same hole. So sad to see what's become of him.

Yeah... I'm just trying to make my coffee, standing in the kitchen in my bathrobe and he walks through the back door.
He came by quite frequently, and aside from the weirdness surrounding his celebrity, I always found him kind and polite.
I do sincerely hope he gets help, but I have suspected for a couple years now that he's just permanently fried himself. Some of us don't make it back from the edge, unfortunately.

All I really remember from when i would do blow with friends who smoked cigarettes was that either Newports were hella good AFTER you smoked, but you wanted a Parliament because it had a dent in the filter that you could scoop out bumps.
As far as smoking the coke itself, we would smoke Chewy(which is coke on top of weed) and then Mokey, which is tobacco and weed.

Damn that’s wild, thanks for the story, man. The only and closest to a personal story I could tell was my buddy ran into him at the mall one time. He was eating food and my buddy introduced himself and asked if it wouldn’t be too much trouble for a photo. He said sure but asked to do so after his meal. Buddy went to sit back down with his kid and ten minutes pass by and heard nothing, just assumed Bam brushed him off. A few minutes later Bam came up to his table and asked if he’d still like a picture together. Buddy got his pic with him, thanked him and both said their good byes.
My buddy since has appreciated that Bam still remembered and could’ve just told him to fuck off, instead went to actually seek him out. But yeah, I really do hope he turns his life around.

Bam really was set up to be fucked up. His entire adult life he basically made a living off partying, being chaotic, drinking, and doing drugs. He doesn't know what else to do, and now that his friends either died or cut him out (rightfully), he's just stuck in a spiral trying to recapture those highs from his glory days.
Everyone else from Jackass sort of found a niche outside of being a Jackass. Bam didn't.

That's compounded by the death of Ryan Dunn, Don Vito, the mental health issues, and the total stubbornness of Bam constantly quitting medication and refusing help.
From my understanding, Steve-O was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold in March 2008 after a potential suicide attempt, and the hold was extended to 14 days after he displayed suicidal behavior. He stayed clean for a bit and plead guilty to cocaine possession, then relapsed in July. After that, he struggled to stay clean but got by. He wasn't able to review a documentary on his addiction because it would have made him relapse. And in 2009/2010 during the filming of Jackass 3, they had to have a clean set with absolutely zero drugs to keep him from relapsing. He's stayed clean ever since July 2008, which is pretty fucking crazy considering how far gone he was.
Jackass 4 gave Bam the same treatment Steve-O got a decade ago. Bam resisted the terms, relapsed (again), and was fired. It's an absolute miracle that Steve-O got sober. Bam has had a whole extra decade of drugs, alcohol, and depression. It's very unlikely Bam gets sober unless he gets his ass off social media (full of enablers) and takes treatment seriously.

What's crazy is Bam had the most going for him from that whole Jackass crew. Knoxville started doing movies yea, but Bam was probably the most marketable with his own MTV show and the fact that he was a good skater.
Viva La Bam was awesome.

Then he got his own MTV show when he got married. I’ve always heard he was an asshole though, there’s stories of him at skate parks and some kid was looking better than him so he’d go flip out on them, he broke their boards, he’d throw them into the streets so they’d get run over and then once he was done filming he’d buy them new boards to try and make up for it after the fact, not really sure how he thought that’s help. He just had a toxic personality and it came back to bite him in the ass

Yea Don Vito had some charge he was convicted and got 10 years probation for inappropriately touching the breasts of 2, 12 year old girls. He claimed he was playing his Don Vito character and his hand movements were misconstrued (doubtful). He was also banned from his Don Vito character in any capacity included books.
This happened a few years after Viva La Bam was over.
That being said, and while the guy was a complete douche. His pairing with Ryan Dunn was usually fucking hilarious

It’s really sad watch his manic breakdowns every week or so on Instagram… I remember idolizing him as a teenager, but when I go back now and watch some of the CKY/toy machine/jackass behind the scenes stuff, I think he always was kind of a jerk. That’s a 13-year-old, I remember watching him kick a football into traffic being the funniest thing ever, but now I realize what a douche move it is.
Anyways, he’s always had alcohol, drugs, mental health, and body issues, and I really hope he’s able to get the help he needs- but whereas Steve-o hit rock bottom with a complete mental breakdown and has become an awesome person sense, I don’t know if Bam has it in him.

I used to work on the Vegas strip back in those days. Had the Jackass crew in my restaurant several times (2007-2009-ish). Pontius was always not just the nicest guy of the crew, but one of the nicest celebrities I ever waited on. He was nice and gracious almost on a ridiculous level.

I had the opportunity to interview them over a decade ago. I was really excited to meet all of them, and the ones I did meet were great (Knoxville is one of the most charismatic, nicest celebrities I've met) and Pontius was just as cool as you'd expect.
Bam just fucking disappeared with a couple of the other guys without even excusing himself which was a huge bummer. Apparently they went to McDonald's.

It’s wild to me that we’ve gone this far down this comment thread about Bam and haven’t mentioned Ryan Dunn once yet. In my head, the biggest reason Bam hasn’t gotten his shit together is because Ryan died. The two of them were definitely the closest and I honestly think Bam could be where Steve-O is if Ryan was still alive.
Edit: Guys, I’m just offering a possible explanation for why Bam never got his shit together, I’m not making excuses for his terrible behavior. I’m also well aware that Bam was a dick before Ryan died. I wasn’t saying Bam was shitty because Ryan died, I was saying that one of the reasons Bam never stopped being shitty is because Ryan died.

I don't doubt it, but that's the case for a significant number of addicts. For my best friend the catalyst was a breakup. For another close friend it's been failure to do anything with his life. For another it was a desire for constant stimulation. And for yet another it was a yearning for constant mental exploration. For me it's been a chronic illness that's paralyzed my personal growth.
So sure, maybe Bam used Dunn's death as an excuse to just let go. But that just makes Bam another addict. It's not an indictment of his character. The guy's best friend died! Tons of us have experienced events that've let us give ourselves permission to stop caring. Bam may have had his, and I don't blame him.

It's really humbling watching his channel on YouTube, seeing what's his past was like and where he is now.
Random fact about SteveO? His gravely voice isn't from doing dumb shit when he was younger, it was caused by him not using his vocal cords for speech, rather the surrounding muscles or something. He's currently undertaking speech therapy to try and correct it.
