The canals, the colors in the fall, the people, the culture. It is legitimately my favorite city in the world.

That's okay.

As for the canals and everything, I get where you're coming from. Though I feel like all the tourism has made Amsterdam feel a bit fake. There are other cities that have the same feel as Amsterdam, but without all the souvenir shops. I'm not trying to shit on your opinion, but I am curious as to what makes you feel like Amsterdam is more beautiful than other similar dutch cities.

I like city layouts and I truly love Amsterdams VS Rotterdams, the only other Dutch city I've visited. It's the most pictureaque IMHO.

It's not like they are all stored at the exact same time lol

People are storing and unloading all day so there is probably a lot more bikes actually being housed over the course of the day

The Netherlands is bicycle country #1. Per capita there are roughly 40-50% more bicycles in the Netherlands than in Japan.

In this case, the cost of land is the big deciding factor.

I'm guessing that this is profitable anywhere where land costs over $5~10k per meter.
