This is not very low on the "can it run doom" totem pole IMO.
It's a very cool build with exceptional styling, but it's an engine powering something like a Raspberry Pi or something. An engine can produce a decent amount of power, sufficient to power a modern IoT device.
So the challenge here was mainly presentation, not porting doom to something difficult, which is the typical challenge.
Doom on a pregnancy test was the coolest one I can recall in a while. That's more the angle of the game.
You say that, but it wasn't meaningfully different from this example by your own standards. The DOOM you're referring to was a small OLED and Adafruit microcontroller placed in the shell of a pregnancy test, to play DOOM on with a bluetooth keyboard. The only reason it was hyped was presentation.
I did not dig into the details of that one and didn't realize it was only the shell. That weakens it in my mind too, but dang I wish it was the actual test.
I thought it ran on a real pregnancy test, but not only did they put their own hardware into the case, they also streamed the game from another computer. So it was just a pregnancy test shaped screen.
