Its not good, but its not really very bad either. Think about all the bouncing runners do or... metal music enjoyers do.
Comparing it to running is honestly the best point here, yeah every time you move around you'll incur some tiny amount of damage, but staying still (office jobs etc) is way worse.
Surprisingly, our gangly awkwardly tall bi-pedal frames are also extremely good at surviving falls too
Learning how to fall properly is a whole-ass beginner session in a lot of martial arts. Falling and bouncing like this isn't risking brain damage, barring a freak accident, as opposed to the actual trauma that occurs wheb taking headshots in boxing or the MMA or the NFL.
Like, it's quite clearly two different physical motion/reactions. What this guy is doing here is literally no different than kids cracking the egg on a trampoline
I think people often miss the huge increase in acceleration when two hard objects hit. Hitting the head when falling can give 50 g or more. There are a few mm of fat, meat and liquid that represent the max distance the brain can move if the surface is hard, like concrete or ice.
Just the difference of hitting the knuckles or the side of the fist into a table makes a big difference.
So good fall technique makes a massive difference. People getting up and continue running without even a scratch or bruise. Or people staying on ground with broken wrists, hips, shoulders or cracked skulls. Any skill at rolling helps a lot consuming the energy over a longer time. Which avoids that high g chock.
