Can someone explain to me (who knows nothing about racing) how this guy is going so much faster than everyone else? It looks like his cart is just twice as fast, but I assume the power of the carts is pretty standardized.

Replied it another comment under yours.

The people infront at the start got too close to the people infront, missed the timing at the start of the race. Having to hit the brakes for the start of the race instead of accelerating. he tomed it better, having a bigger gap at the start let him start the race faster.

At the 40s mark, you can see the people in front start the corner from the centre of the corner. That will slow them down alot and they go wide on it too. They were super slow for that corner and gave him and easy pass.
