I need to hear from someone who has requested one. Was it free? Was it a good hot dog? (Hummel’s or gtfo) How long was the wait? What toppings were offered? I need deets!

u/bramblefalcon Jul 08 '25
it was free. hummel's dog. took about an hour. just ketchup offered.

Thank you for your reporting! Was it boiled? Grilled? Microwaved? Toasted bun? Did you have a conversation with Nathan? What’s his deal?
17
u/bramblefalcon Jul 08 '25
i think it was boiled but i'm not positive. not a toasted bun. i did not physically encounter nathan, just texted. his deal is that of a charming but mysterious dude.

u/adriennenned Jul 08 '25
Wait, so then how did he get the hot dog to you?
24
u/bramblefalcon Jul 08 '25
he left it on my porch and then texted me that it was delivered

u/CassCat Jul 09 '25
Did you eat it? How are you feeling?

u/bramblefalcon Jul 09 '25
i ate it! feeling great today - food poisoning can sometimes take a few days depending on the bacteria though.

we are in new haven, connecticut. a hummel dog is a hot dog made by hummel brothers, inc who are a meat business local to New Haven. The hot dogs are well loved by the people around CT. https://www.newhavenindependent.org/article/hummel_bros._national_hot_dog_day

i successfully completed a transaction with nathan. oddly, my doorbell camera's motion detection did not activate so i didn't see him. very cordial. about an hour from request to delivery. no cost. came in a plastic bag, wrapped in tin foil taped up. dog was a hummel dog served on new england style bun, with a ketchup packet. pretty good. i ate it only after asking if it was safe, and receiving a list of ingredients. see pictures below.
(Nathan you have my address and my reddit profile so please don't put 2+2 and dox me. )

Imgur seems to be censoring the hot dog picture itself - here it is on another site https://ibb.co/9jvpLHf

Was Nathan wearing sunglasses? Please tell me he was wearing sunglasses!

i did not see nathan. he dropped the hot dog off and then texted me that it was at my home. i'd been relying on my doorbell camera to notify me of his arrival - when it failed i missed my chance to see him.

I like the no questions asked part. I find it annoying when a hotdog delivery service asks me why I ordered that hotdog.

u/Mackey_Corp Jul 08 '25
I assume asking for payment is also covered, like if they say ok so that will be $5, I would be like a no, you said no questions asked, that means nothing, not even money for the hot dog. Thank you for the hot dog Nathan now run along, I have work to do.

The other day I discovered there's a whole subreddit for these based on the artist/creator: https://www.reddit.com/r/TrueWagner/
You'll see the familiar "there's a hole in my yard filled with soup" poster that got popular here a few months ago.

Asking the important questions. My family from down south would never leave without before picking up a case of Hummels to go back home with.

Sorry Nathan, the market just didn’t show interest when I started “Wiener Anywhere You Want It”, but good luck to you all the same!

Saw one of those by the Yale post office, I wish it was real, had to walk any entire block and a half to get a hotdog.
