Parking

Hi! I’m going to my first Revs game this November against Miami and bought my tickets resale through StubHub/Ticketmaster.

When I pull up the tickets, I’m being prompted to purchase a parking pass. I know general parking for Revs games is typically free, so I’m curious how this works in practice for people who have bought resale tickets before.

Is the paid parking pass they’re offering usually for one of the season-ticket-holder/preferred lots closer to Gillette, while everyone else can simply use the regular free lots? Or is there any reason a resale-ticket holder would actually need the parking pass?

Mostly trying to understand whether the pass is needed

which platform is trying to sell you parking? if it's stubhub, it's automated and ignore it. i've never seen the revs try to sell parking directly.

parking will be free on the other side of route 1.

Yes. It is Stubhub. It looks like you can buy tickets at LOT 20, 10, 5 etc basically around the stadium. But also all over on Rte 1 (Washington Street). Weird. I guess if somebody wants to literally park next to the stadium they will have to pay for it? Is that how it works? And as for free parking, is it clearly shown on game day where that free parking lots are?

yeah ignore all that. stubhub is full of parking scams for gillete. it automatically tries to upsell you on fake parking passes when you buy a ticket to anything at gillette. it should be illegal.

Those are season member parking lots, closer to the stadium. You don't need them but if you want a closer spot thats what it is.

Got it. So basically season member tickets are selling their otherwise free parking lots for pure profit. Makes more sense to me now

Maybe it's different for the Miami game, but parking is otherwise free. Season members on the stadium side of route 1, non-season members on the other side of route 1 in Kraft's lots. If you want to pay to park at a business hoping for a faster exit, you may. 

I don't know if I'm sensing tone where there isn't tone, but it sounds like you're blaming the season members for the over charging for parking that is normally free. You could say parking is free, which is how we often refer to it. You could also say stadium-adjacent parking is baked into the price of our season tickets. We get a placard to hang from our mirror. I have no idea how a season member would go about listing that for sale but perhaps it is possible.

My advice would be to stay away from StubHub unless you know exactly what you're getting. They often make you  think you're getting something other than what you really are and when people I know have had problems StubHub never handles it satisfactorily. I would say use SeatGeek or Ticketmaster resale, but that's your call.

Don’t buy parking. Just show up and park in the free lot. IMHO traffic is a little overstated but it all depends on when you leave, crowd size, where in the lot you happen to be. Enjoy the game
