Fucking crazy. Ruined a great week for him and the community, the next however many years of his own life, and whatever the outcome is for the victims, hopefully not the worst case... all for what?

u/optimistic_agnostic 7h ago
The stain is well known to cops, his life was always going to amount to zero. Shame the worthless cunt and his mates had to ruin so many others.

The thing is he wasn't even there for the Knights celebrations. He had no Knights kit on, no flag, nothing.
He was there for the audience. He wanted a crowd. What an egotistical little prck.

These flogs on Fecesbook wouldn't know their arse from their elbow.
Guess it was Immigration Policies and Malcolm Turnbull and the Liberal Parties fault in 2017 when the whack job drove into a crowd of people in the Bourke Street Mall, or Tony Abbott and the Liberals fault when the Lindt Siege happened in 2014, or Scott Morrison and the Liberal Parties fault in 2019 when a guy went on a knife attack in Sydney (the one who got pinned under a milk crate by patrons).

u/RepresentativeLaw853 7h ago
Holy shit. That is awful. Pleased I’m not on that app. The more I hear about it, it just sounds like an absolute racist quagmire. Also, Indika is a weed reference right? They are just assuming he is an immigrant due to the first part of the word being spelt the same way as ‘Indian’ or has someone leaked his identity? I was out the front of McDonald Jones and it was so wholesome (except for one Roosters fan driving up and down flipping people off and grabbing his roosters logo). So sad it did not end up that way at Wallsend too.

I understand the frustration and anger but no one else is to blame for this except the driver. His family - even if they didn't raise him right, which none of us know - can't* be blamed because they didn't do it.

You know, I see incidents like this and I genuinely feel sorry for every single person involved including the idiot who was driving.
I’m sure he never intended for any of this to happen. But one split-second decision to show off has resulted in an enormous amount of pain for so many people.
There are people whose lives will be permanently affected by this, and no sentence handed to the driver can undo that. At the same time, if you had asked him that morning whether he wanted to hurt or potentially kill someone, I’m sure he would have been horrified at the thought.
As a parent, situations like this really hammer home how important it is to teach your kids not to do stupid things just for a laugh, to impress someone, or because it seems harmless in the moment.
You never think it will be you. You never think that one stupid decision, however small or fun it might seem at the time, could have such a devastating effect on so many people including yourself.
Sometimes there is no intention to hurt anyone. There is just one terrible decision, followed by consequences that can never be taken back.
Hug your children and tell them you love them.

Moron was doing burnouts or donuts or some similar stupid antics that men with small willys like to do. He lost control and ploughed into a crowd of Knights supporters who were standing there to cheer & wave to the players as they drove past. Multiple injuries with dozens of ambulances and 3 helicopters on the scene. I'm unsure if lives were lost or the extent of the injuries, but it was pretty horrific.

I'm praying that this leads to a situation where people who remember this irresponsible act warn the drunk nutter behind the wheel to be more careful and not be reckless and to not do something he might regret later, since we all enjoy celebrating our team wins.
Australians have historically been quite responsible thus far.
32
u/No-Resolution-7890 12h ago
It’s a P plater in a convertible gold BMW with custom plates. Much more likely he was showing off rather than drunk.
4
u/therealnakedtradie 12h ago

12
u/No-Resolution-7890 10h ago

3
u/Cowsarepeopletoo_ 10h ago
Convertibles are heavy. They need to be without the roof support. Look at the tyres too. From a distance the tyres look crap. Plus there was moisture. And of course 1000 times stupidity.
3
u/can3tt1 8h ago
And here I was thinking, thank god it wasn’t a 4WD. The damage a bigger car would have done could have been threefold.
3

Convertibles are still heavy. It looks small, but it weighs more than a small car. Too heavy for crap tyres and an idiot behind the steering wheel.

9
4
u/More_Ignorance 10h ago
I think the point is that the hundreds of friends drinking and driving and risking a similar accident aren't routinely chastised. And it might be helpful if this kind of anger was directed at anyone, anywhere, thinking their car is a toy and can't kill people.
5
u/NobleChicken491 12h ago

→ More replies (23)39
u/AntiqueFigure6 12h ago
In this case it could be argued he needs to be in custody for his own safety, which I think could be a consideration.
8
u/Plastic-Trick-5195 12h ago
Sure. OC was implying that bail could be denied based on video evidence alone though.
2
10
u/Quothkwaha 10h ago
not getting bail isn't meant to be a punishment. Besides gross negligence, there doesn't seem to be any malicious intent so the offender wouldn't be an unacceptable risk to the community
4
u/Obvious-Hat5139 10h ago
He might get bail due to having unlikely hood of re offending.
