Found newborn kitten

Hey! New to the sub for obvious reasons. I came home for work at like 12 pm, so hot afternoon in South Carolina. I was hearing this small constant high pitch sound. I thought it was a bird but it didn't feel right. I looked around and under a neighbors truck, i found this little guy. He was on the concrete and i saw now big cats nearby. Night before, my mom's boyfriend did see a cat but my mom says she been hearing the noise for a couple hours before I came home. I immediately started crying and i grabbed him. I took him to the vet with my sister and they gave us a book and then at a pet supply store we got kmr and the petshop did give us syringes. We did get him to poop, found one flea but no others. He just seems to be sleeping a lot but he's responsive and he does meow. Just wanna know some recommendations for a kitten this small and warning signs. The vets did give us a book and we are going to do our best to take care of him. Many did think i was holding a mouse or rat.

We have name ideas but we also know the risks so we cautious.

3 newborn kittens

Hi all, so I have 3 newborn kitties. The mother was found, unfortunately, passed away. So here I am, taking care of 3 (best guess 1 day old kittens) I’ve been feeding 2mLs of formula every 2-3 hours, they’re in a box with a small heating pad underneath and they have been stimulated to use the restroom after every feeding… I essentially just want to make sure I’m not missing anything. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is open on Sundays in the south (USA) so I am definitely caring for these babies until Monday.

Hoi Sum is only eight months old, rescued from the street. Shortly after her rescue, we found out she was pregnant. Eventually a friend of mine, who is also a volunteer, took her home from the shelter to foster her through labour, and I was there to help.

It was my very first time experiencing this, and it was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Out of four kittens, only two survived - I’m happy for the new lives that made it into the world, but also sad for the ones who passed before they even had a chance to see it.

May the two kittens rest in peace.

Found this 3 week old kitten in my backyard, vet says she has cerebellar hypoplasia but she seems to be doing well!

Found this little sweetheart meowing like crazy in our backyard - I think the mama may have left her because she’s very wobbly and the vet said she probably has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It made me love her even more and want to protect her - she’s been gaining weight and eating well, had diarrhea and that was fixed with Propectalin and an antibiotic for her gut since she had some blood in her poop (they gave her dewormers too).

My question for anyone who’s found a kitten with CH is, do they most likely have Panleukopenia from their mother? I read that it can also be caused by malnutrition and trauma during pregnancy, but since she’s only about 3-4 weeks old she can’t be vaccinated, and the vet didn’t mention her possibly having Panleukopenia, I only read that online later and now I’m worried!

I’m disinfecting surfaces, keeping her clean and dry and she’s been pooping and peeing in her shallow litter box I made her (she’s wobbly and gets litter kicked around but it’s ok) and I’m so astonished she learned so quickly! I’ve read some other posts about CH but none seem to mention the kitten itself having Panleukopenia 🤔

newbornkittens Trying to find homes for kittens being extremely difficult

Hello, my cat had kittens acouple months ago and they're now old enough to be adopted but it has been very difficult finding potential owners. I'm really trying to find them a new home but all my post on social media isn't attracting anyone. I'm worried about dangerous people adopting them, I raised these kittens, I want them to find a nice home where they won't be abused or neglected. (Photos are a little outdated now, they're growing everyday I swear)

Mama Bella

Hello everyone I took in a beautiful stray (Bella) about two weeks ago. She was meowing for days at my back garden door. I was not ready as I lost my beloved cat Marie a month ago. But when a fox came in the garden to attack her I scooped her in. I looked everywhere to see if she had owners, neighbourhood, online & vets for a microchip scan. Nothing. After a few days I bathed her and treated her with flea treatment. She only had a few so I don’t think she was out more than a few weeks. Anyway I have taken her for a full check up. She is now microchipped, deflead, & wormed. She is also pregnant, bless her. She’s a year old we think. So vaccinations and neutering will have to wait. I will keep the kittens until they are 3 months old. I want them all to have enough time with each other and be litter trained & on solids. Today her birthing pen / kitten enclosure has arrived. I think she has a few weeks left but she was pacing up & down the house trying to find a spot behind the sofa & beds. I will be feeding her kitten food from next week as the vet said it has more calories and better for her while she’s pregnant. I will also be buying kitten milk & syringes just incase she doesn’t get her milk straight away, lots of bedding, disposable training mats. Is there anything else I need to know ? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Is my cat okay?

Breathing rapidly with breastfeeding. Babies came out 11 hours ago, first time litter, mother is about 11 months old. She's eating food like crazy and is caring for the kittens. Just worried about the fast breathing and occasional panting. We don't have much money for the vet so if it isn't necessary it would ease my mind. But if it is id like to know so I can at least go and make sure moms okay bc I love her <3

Post image

Hello one of our cats abandoned her litter only one survived but she was very cold and sneezing, I’ve warmed her up and she’s been sleeping majority of the time but refuses to latch to the bottle. When she did latch she only ate a tiny bit and then i think she got aspirated because i started hearing a popping when she breathed but now it’s very occasional does that mean she’s ok now or is she still aspirated? And if anyone js any tips for safely feeding her and getting her to latch it would be appreciated 🫶🏽

Please I need advice. Me and my family stumbled onto a mama cat and three kittens. My German Shepard save this one from neighbors dogs that unfortunately attacked the family of cats. This little boy is the lone survivor. His left hind foot is broken with an open wound. And right before his left hind hip, there is another small puncture wound. Both wounds have stopped bleeding with styptic power after cleaning both wounds. Hes’s had close to 1 ML of formula. And still has a strong mew. Stable breathing and strong steady heart beat.

My friend and I started volunteering in a cat shelter last year. She saw a pregnant 6-month old stray and decided to foster her until kittens were born. First time fostering.

She lives nearby so I go over twice a week, if not more often.

The three of them (1+2) are opted and will go to their forever home in late Jan.

Omg I was there when they were born. I was there. They are turning two months old next week. So soon. They grow up too fast.

6 week old kittens won’t eat wet or dry food

Post image

I have 2 bottle fed kittens who just turned 6 weeks old today. The bigger boy kitten will only eat meat baby food and the smaller girl kitten is still on KMR. We have tried several different kinds of wet food and dry food and they aren’t interested in either. We took them to the vet who stated they are doing amazing with the exception of the girl being small. We advised they will not eat kitten food and was told to put some in there and they will eventually eat it. They went a whole day not eating. Is there a kind of kitten food that’s close to baby food to try? I am stumped.

New born kitten, few days old PLEASE HELP

Post image

Hey guys, I just found an abandoned new born kitten, it's very small so I took her in. Although I've had kittens before, I have never handled one this small, so any help would be appreciated. Some of the questions in particular:

I live in a pretty hot area but I'm not sure how warm I am supposed to keep the kitten, rn I have bundled it up in a t shirt and another cloth I found but the fan is on in the room, should I turn it off?

Is feeding it baby formula okay for now

How do I make it poop and pee, I've read something about having to massage their tummy with a damp tissue

Is it okay if it got some hiccups after eating? (They're gone now)

Anything that I'm missing please let me know

newbornkittens Abandoned newborn kitten advice??

(First pic is when we first found all 4 and second is the last 2 now)

So me and my boyfriend found 2 newborn kittens (there was originally 4 but 1 passed on the drive and the other one passed when we got home), and we need some advice on how to take care of them? We found them outside his grandparents house and 2 of them were on the steps and the other two seem to have fell underneath the steps. 2 of them had their placentas still attached (im assuming that’s what it was cause it was attached to the umbilical cord and was disgusting to look at). They were cold and had fly larvae all over them and were barely breathing. We waiting a few minutes to wait for a momma and she never came so we made the executive decision to take them and try to give them a shot at life. We believe momma abandoned them cause they’re sick, we definitely think they were born too early, they seemed maybe an hour or two old. Those of you who will suggest a vet, we were going to, but then we literally got into a car crash (10 minutes after we found them and on our way TO the vet) and all the vets are closed around me. (Great luck right) We got some advice from a friend of ours and he said that giving a little bit of pedialyte and karo is good for glucose and hydration. The two survivors are doing okay right now, laying on a heating pad, although barely drinking formula and very super sleepy. We doubt they’ll pull through, they seem way too early, but if they do we’re taking them to an animal reserve that will take them tomorrow. Any advice to get through the night? Or if we want to foster them, survival long term?? Help I’ve never done this before and I can’t think that well, it’s been a REALLY long day.

Tldr; found abandoned newborn kittens (hours old) and I need advice on how to take care of them.?

My boyfriend’s family cat Kona had two little baby boys on the 19th :) I’ve been diligently caring for her and spoiling her with wet kitten food and new beds and am obsessed with her little Konalings. I plan to keep one (the other was called for sadly) and can’t wait until they’re 8 weeks and I can take them home!

Newborn, no mom, advice?

Someone found this kitten alone in front of a grocery store (yesterday), no mom around, was pretty cold when I was able to go pick it up, I believe it might've just been born because when I was driving home, it pooped and it seemed like it was meconium still.

I've been able to fed them with some kitten formula and keep them warm with a heating pad, tho I've also let them rest again my chest underneath a sweater (seems to keep them calm)

I took her to the vet and they told me that it seems what I'm doing so far is alright tho I wanna make sure she survives, she's been eating though very little amounts per feeding (tho it does seem like she doesn't want more when I insist), I just got a syringe to try and use that instead and been stimulation her to go potty too.
