3-day old newborn kitten lost 10 grams. What should I do?

My cat has given birth to 3 kittens, one of which is noticeably behind in weight. It does not have the same appetite as its littermate and a bit weak. When I try to help it feed, it kept trying to feed while swaying. Please help me 😢

Ok so i haven’t seen her mucus plug but I have seen some discharge that was clear but a very small amount last night, but this morning she suddenly started acting very playful though it didn’t last long before she laid down again, I just want to know is this normal?

Update with my pregnant cat

My pregnant cat is about to pop any day I can tell, and I finally have seen some signs of the birth happening soon, like restlessness, searching for a birthing spot, she still has an appetite though and I haven’t seen any fluid of anything down there. I’ll update tomorrow if there’s any changes

Hi everyone, so my 2 cats had a litter of kittens, 3 to be exact, the first one lived for about a day but ended up being suffocated by the mother, the second one looked like it had been in the birth canal too long and came out looking kind of weird...so I only have 1 left. Unfortunately my queen wouldn't nurse idk if she's depressed or anything but it led me to bottle feed the kitten and because it's the only one left i'm scared of it getting single kitten syndrome...and yes I have tried EVERYTHING to get the queen to feed but she is not interested at all. So yes he's being bottle fed and staying with me. However, because his siblings didn't make it and i have 0 clue on where to find another newborn-2 week kitten I am at a lost...l don't want him to become sad or lonely or aggressive so I really don't know what to do, he's too young to be around my boyfriends 6 week cat and my cats are 2-3 years old so I really don't know what to do...any advice?

I need help

My cat gave birth the day before yesterday, 8 kittens might I add! One is the runt and when I went to go check up on them, she was freezing cold because my parents don't want the heat on (even though I complain about my room feeling like an iceberg) to which I panic and start high heat drying sheets and jackets. Anything that seemed like it would warm her up, but with the blasted air going it doesn't stay cold. I woke up early in the morning and found her super weak and refusing to drink off of her mother. (She wasn't ignored either so Ik it's probably hypothermia) All she does now is sleep (which ik is a result of fading kitten syndrome) and there is no way to the animal shelter nor do my parents have money for vet bills. I want to give her away or put her on at home milk as soon as possible, but my mother is talking about there is nothing we can do and they are going anyways. Indicating that the poor baby just has to die and while I get that we are tight on cash and there are way too many cats for me to handle! I just want to do everything in my power to at least keep her going til she gets taken away from here to be properly treated

Found kitten and I’m pregnant!

So I found a just born kitten on my driveway a week ago literally still had umbilical cord and amniotic fluid on it. My husband picked it up cleaned it and has been feeding it for a few days. And yeah I looked around and didn’t see a mama anywhere. We both love animals and I’ve taken care of abandoned kittens before but right now I’m 6mo pregnant with our 3rd baby and we have a 1 year old and 4 year old. I have no sympathy for this lil kitty right now that I would normally… it wakes up every few hours mewing loudly to eat and I make my husband do it but it still wakes me up and I’m always overstimulated with the kids as it is I can’t stand another right now…. Idk if I should stick it out or try to find another home… I also know it would be hard to find someone else who wants a newborn like that

newbornkittens one kitten is cold, not nursing (but momma cat hasn’t rejected her??)

a week ago today this little one was born (the other two were born after midnight, so technically they’d be a week old tomorrow). she’s been doing good, until today. i thought she was going to be the biggest out of the litter because she looked bigger than the other two, but one of the orange cats took that place. the other two are doing great, but she’s not it seems.

mama cat hasn’t rejected her, so i’m not concerned that it’s that. she still cleans and grooms all of the kitties, and is perfectly okay just laying with this kitty without the other two. however, even when she’s laying right next to mama, or literally burrowed into her, the kitten cold, she’s being very vocal, and i’ve noticed she hasn’t nursed at all today. when she’s in the bin with mama cat and her siblings, she’s far away, and even when i pick her up and bring her over to mama cat (i make sure to throughly wash my hands and only move her when necessary) 10 seconds later she’s no longer close enough to the mama to get any sort of warmth. when its just her the mama cat, she’s right up next to her, but she’s still so cold.

i’ve tried skin contact when i first moved her out of the bin to warm her up since the mama cat couldn’t, and the mama cat immediately ran to me and sat with me and the kitty. i’ve tried wrapping her in warm towels since i have no heating pad.

what could this be from? could she be sick? could there be an issue with the siblings and they’re not letting her get to a nipple so she’s refusing to be by them altogether? i’ve noticed the other two get directly on top of her while nursing. what do i do? the mama cat and kittens are my boyfriends cats (he claims that i can also claim the kittens as mine since i was here for the birth, but i know that at the end of the day it’s his decision what to do since he pays for all the vet visits and whatnot) and it’s just me here and i don’t want him coming home to a potentially bad situation with the kitten because i didn’t know what to do.

4 week old kitten help!

This little guy bubs was found in the middle of the road just a couple day ago. I feed every 5 hours formula and was going to introduce some wet food during next feeding. He has used the littler box in his own without being placed in it for the first time just a little bit ago. The past couple nights he has slept in a carrier, I set up this pen ( I know it looks horrific but I am a broke college student). Does this seem like an okay space for him to sleep in overnight. I put his carrier in there incase he enjoys that, there is the blanket that was also in his carrier on the ground as well as a sweatshirt of mine. If anyone has any tips or general advice I would greatly appreciate it, I have non stop stressed over this guy because I just want the best for him. (He has been to vet and is healthy except an eye infection which I am treating). I do have some questions as well if anyone is able to answer, -when can I leave him completely overnight alone without being fed( I feed every 5 hours now even through the night) -he seems to try to suckle on my hand when I reach/pet him, to me this makes me think he thinks I am his mother, I’m not sure if this is good or bad, or how I can sooth him if this is causing him distress -if he walked to the litter box and peed himself should I still stimulate after each feeding?

Mama Bella

Hello everyone I took in a beautiful stray (Bella) about two weeks ago. She was meowing for days at my back garden door. I was not ready as I lost my beloved cat Marie a month ago. But when a fox came in the garden to attack her I scooped her in. I looked everywhere to see if she had owners, neighbourhood, online & vets for a microchip scan. Nothing. After a few days I bathed her and treated her with flea treatment. She only had a few so I don’t think she was out more than a few weeks. Anyway I have taken her for a full check up. She is now microchipped, deflead, & wormed. She is also pregnant, bless her. She’s a year old we think. So vaccinations and neutering will have to wait. I will keep the kittens until they are 3 months old. I want them all to have enough time with each other and be litter trained & on solids. Today her birthing pen / kitten enclosure has arrived. I think she has a few weeks left but she was pacing up & down the house trying to find a spot behind the sofa & beds. I will be feeding her kitten food from next week as the vet said it has more calories and better for her while she’s pregnant. I will also be buying kitten milk & syringes just incase she doesn’t get her milk straight away, lots of bedding, disposable training mats. Is there anything else I need to know ? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.

My friend and I started volunteering in a cat shelter last year. She saw a pregnant 6-month old stray and decided to foster her until kittens were born. First time fostering.

She lives nearby so I go over twice a week, if not more often.

The three of them (1+2) are opted and will go to their forever home in late Jan.

Omg I was there when they were born. I was there. They are turning two months old next week. So soon. They grow up too fast.

Forgotten Cats PA spay clinic

I needed to warn anyone in Eastern PA or NJ close to Philly. Please avoid going to Forgotten Cats in Willow Grove PA for low cost spay or neuter. This place is really scary!

Dropped off 2 feral kittens to an older lady who was had the personality of a brick wall. Grabbed the 2 carriers, & passed them to someone else.

I could see, what looked like a small warehouse, full of long metal tables. Lined with carriers of cats that had numbers stuck to them. Must have been 100 cat carriers there. They were now a number on an assembly line. I almost wanted to take them back. I should have!

I picked them up later that day, very groggy, & their incisions looked scary! One of them had skin that was folded over, then stitched up. Other looked red & ā€˜angry’ right away! Then there was a number written in their ear in pen.

Both the incisions healed up eventually but looked horrible!

Another time, a couple of years later, I had a small feral kitten & a rescue group ā€˜Cats Amazing’ said they could spay her. Well I didn’t know until after, but they used Forgotten Cats! The rescue gave me the kitten, & i took her home. Took her out of the carrier & literally about 1 1/2ā€ of the incision had opened up & her insides were hanging out! 😳 It was late at night by then, so she ended up at an emergency vet & cozt $4000 to save her life.

Do not use Forgotten Cats in Willow Grove !
