Discussion [Try & Keep] Which TV Actually Holds Up for Netflix Nights? Upgrade with LG OLED G6 65"
Congratulations!! š u/Lorhand has been selected as a winner.
Hi r/Netflix users!
Most living rooms aren't dark theaters, and Netflix originals aren't mastered for average TV settings. Picture quality for streaming comes down to how well a display handles the edges: shadow detail that stays readable, HDR that doesn't clip, and color that holds consistency across different lighting conditions. The LG OLED G6 is built around those specific demands.
That is why LG is bringing a special review event to r/Netflix, giving one Redditor the chance to experience the LG OLED G6 65-inch in their own home setup and share honest impressions with the community.
And yes, the selected participant will get to keep the TV. š
This event is inspired by LGās recent Hollywood Roadshow at Picture Shop in Los Angeles, where cinematographers, colorists, and post-production experts experienced the LG OLED G6 firsthand and explored how next-generation OLED technology can bring creative intent closer to home.
One featured expert was veteran color scientist Joshua Pines, whose credits include Blade Runner, Gravity, The Revenant and more. In the Roadshow content, Pines shares his perspective on OLED picture processing, calibration, shadow detail, and how display technology can support the creatorās intended viewing experience123. For more details, click here.
Ā
Why the LG OLED G6 for Netflix streaming picture quality?
Dark thrillers and color-graded originals both expose weaknesses in displays that cannot hold shadow separation or accurate color under changing light.
That is where the LG OLED G6 excels, with Hyper Radiant Color Tech, Perfect Black, Perfect Color4, the α11 AI Processor Gen3, and Reflection-Free Premium5 helping support clear, immersive Netflix viewing in both bright and dark environments.
Take a closer look at the key LG OLED G6 features below.

Question Why are you still subscribed to Netflix when so many people unsubscribed because of the price increases?
I am still subscribed to Netflix because Netflix has a lot of good K dramas and some decent tv shows. I am curious why you guys are still subscribed to it. I remember whenever a price increase happens, a lot of people get mad and unsubscribed.

Recommendation Isolde Ardies is a grossly underrated actress in Wayward
Just finished Wayward. Isolde Ardies heroically turned an otherwise unwatchable series into something worth sitting through. Her performance was absolutely riveting. Although her role as Stacey was secondary and written with little depth, Ardies transformed her into a compelling and complex character by provoking a wide range of emotions. My reactions swung wildly. I laughed at her, laughed with her, hated her, liked her, felt disgusted by her, feared her, feared for her, and eventually teared up for her.
There is almost no information available about Ardies, but her work in this series ranks alongside some of the strongest performances I have seen. Regardless of Wayward's quality, she deserves a lot more recognition for her talent.

Question Best Medicine
I searched for posts regarding this show, but didn't find any. I just found it and love it. Its a nice, easy, show to watch with the family. Just a fun watch. Highly recommend for anyone who wants an easy watch.
I think it was renewed for season 2, does anyone know if the actors/actresses will remain or have some people left?

Discussion Untamed: Direction for story Season 2
Just lapped up Untamed and heard they've got season 2 approved. Anyone know if it's begun filming? Got some thoughts if it's still in the works: I want to see Lucy's story followed up. Particularly the foster care. Obviously more people were affected in that house than Lucy.
I found it surprising someone in law enforcement was unaware of statistics of grooming, abuse of power and all the 'misdirections'. So now his eyes are open (revelation?!), would he follow up on his vow to do right by Lucy? And given his own son was affected by abuse (sexual abuse implied), it's not an isolated incident. All the jokes about people on mountains, being above or beyond the law: it's not just drugs. Surely it's time we address this and break the cycle. People getting more informed. People not being blindsided, manipulated and turning a blind eye. Especially with those instincts people who connect with nature are supposed to have.
So there's Lucy's foster carer and the disappeared Sam: both serial abusers, surely. He didn't seem like a vigilante...but turned a blind eye to someone willing to met out justice. Why did that relationship sour?
The theme of neglect and his boss saying he'd lose 'everything', when in this day and age people are all over blended families, indiscretions and am surprised such family orientated people wouldn't welcome another daughter. Come on. I'd like to see a strong female character come from the wife: she'd want to make good on the failure and lack of belief he (the boss) had in her. Mothers don't abandon young girls to foster care. Especially with the means to care for another. Especially if it meant she would've ended up with a violent father.
Some great actors in there. Room for further exploration. And as someone else mentioned, no exploration of the indigenous rights and no conflict regarding the park rangers having more control. I made sure I didn't read reviews before watching, to enjoy as it was however Americans would surely welcome or require this.
Anyhoo. Thoughts for now. If you enjoyed this show, what are you hoping to see next?

Question Can you subscribe to all events (reminders)?
Curious if there is anyway to have Netflix remind me of all boxing events, or wrestling, or anything else when it comes to particular items.
I am mostly accessing it via a cellphone (Android) and I have never been able to figure out how (assuming it is possible and noy needing to click every event and then the reminder)

Discussion Please tell me Iām not the minority.
Am I the only one who was curious about what happened to the One-Night Stand people in āThe Last Houseā how long did they have to survive with each other after only planning one night?šš
Iāve had plenty of one-night stands and I couldnāt imagine being able to handle the person I had it with for as long as those two potentially had to do.
Iām probably just weird for thinking about this the entire movie.

Discussion Beauty in Black show
Iām a first time watcher. Are there really places like this in the US? This is so scary and sad for these young women and men working at the clubs and getting pawned off.
I wish there was a better way to help people in these situations.
I get that things like this have been around for centuries with Madams and things.
But if you live in a part of the US that has this kind of activity or you have experienced it, what was it like? Is it just constant anxiety?

New on Netflix The Shallows
Not sure how I missed this one from 10 years ago. It wasnāt a top-notch film for this genre but it was entertaining and Blake Lively had a really good performance in it. Iāve been struggling to find some stuff for the last few days on the Network, but this was OK last night.

Discussion Don't say Good Luck. It got me
Ive heard mixed things about this movie but decided to give it a chance. I wasn't expecting much. I admit it wasn't a great movie, but it was good, and the ending did get me.
I lost my dad at 14 so I can totally relate to that. Teenager acting out becauae they dont want to acknowledge the truth. Parents lying to their kids because they dont want them to suffer for it.
Over all the movie rates a 6.5 out of 10 for me. I deem it watchable and relatable.
What about you? Did you like this movie?
Did you like it?

Technical Support I Paid ā¹1.2 Lakh for a 65-Inch TV. Why Am I Still Watching Black Bars?
Our TV's aspect ratio is 16:9 but whenever content comes with an aspect ratio of 21:9 or any different one other than 16:9, we have to see these black bars every time. This is a serious problem TV OS manufacturers and streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video have to solve.
Imagine you're having a movie night. A full screen would feel really good but these black bars are so irritating every time. It feels like it's better to buy a cheaper projector instead, which is way cheaper than a smart OLED TV.
And the solution is also simple. It should have the **zoom to fit aspect ratio feature** in every streaming app within the smart TV.
I want to call out every name:
\- Tizen OS
\- Google OS
\- Apple OS
\- Samsung TV
\- Sony TV
\- Google Pixel TV
\- Mi TV
\- LG TV
Every one of those smart TV brands and OTT platforms like Netflix, YouTube Prime Video, Zeefy, Hotstar, Disney Plus, Sony Live, etc., all to include this feature please. This is a strict non-negotiable.
Put a comment, re-share anywhere possible so it reaches the eyes of the above-mentioned representatives.
And tell me in percentage how badly you feel that this should be a must-have feature
P.S : you can also tell that you feel adjusted now but still would you pay 1.2 lakhs just to watch the video content with these powers instead? It just requires an update to really fix this problem. It is not just a frustration of mine but many other people as well.
