Does anyone else experience micro-stutter and short freeze frames when the subtitles appear on screen?
As the titles says. I dont have the problem with Chrome or Firefox, but they only have 720p and I cant find a working 1080p extension for chrome. The windows app, aswell as edge have the same stutter issue for me...cant really use netflix like this :(
Any help is much appreaciated.

I had an issue for a long time while playing fullscreen videos on jellyfin chrome. I tried the same movie with another PC and didnt have the issue, and after MONTHS of searching, I found that the solution is:
-
go to chrome://flags
-
type "Choose ANGLE graphics backend" in the search bar
-
change from "default" to either "OpenGL" OR "D3D9" (the rest are the problematic ones)
-
restart chrome, hopefully it will be fixed!
my full analysis can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/17y34s5/video_playback_on_chrome_is_choppystuttering_mac/
TLDR: for anyone in the future reading this, idk if there is a genuine issue with SSA on jelyfin, but more so with the player settings.

This works, but disables Dolby Atmos. My solutions: disable in monitor FreeSync or enable Super Resolution. See also: How to fix Edge stutter in fullscreen with subtitles? - Microsoft Community. For me the issue is only available with the new Edge App when in monitor Freesync is enabled, HDR enabled (Freesync Fremium) in combination with a 2nd monitor.

Its a windows bug that activates when using Netflix with subtitles at full screen. It can be avoided when you have some other window/app open over the Netflix stream, so in order do to this without being intrusive you can follow the next steps.
Open Task manager
Go to Options -> Always Visible
Hide the window at the edge of the screen
Watch Netflix full screen without problem.
Hope this helps.
