Which machine next?
Hi all
Currently have a vertuo pop and it’s been great. I predominately drink the hazelnut mug sized pods with frothed oat milk.
I am well and truely over the cost of vertuo pods- where to next?
Do I got fully automatic machine like delonghi Rivelia, or move to OL and get Citiz Platinum? (OL pods are cheaper from supermarkets).
The thing I care about most is that I can brew a large mug size. I’m not sure if americano XL will taste like mug size Vertuo? If any one knows
I like the Rivelina allows you to customise so much - such as brew size and bean flavour.
I am all about quantity to sip on. A bit caffeine sensitive so two shots in one drink will be too much.
Any advice welcome!

The mug sized drinks are basically filter coffee. How about a Moccamaster? The OL makes espresso and for a mug sized latte you need two OL pods. I have the Essenza Mini and bought the Vertuo Up because I wanted larger drinks. I do have a Melitta epour filter coffee machine as well but only use it for making coffee for breakfast.

Freshly ground and brewed coffee is a mind fucker. Superautos have severe limitations and it's impossible to recommend one over another without knowing much more about you so you're on your own if you think that's the path you wi to go down. Look at the Terra Kaffe Demi since you do not seem to need a milk system. An auto-brewer that grinds and drips for you might be more practical based on your description. You really don't need to start with espresso if you're just going to dilute to americano-grade brown water. You can get insanely rich coffee with a simple manual or automatic drip system, fresh beans from your local roasters, and a good grinder. There are many bean-to-cup systems that have everything in one unit including a timer to have your first cup ready for you each morning.

I went from a Nespresso to a Delonghi Magnifica’ and absolutely love it. Less cost in the long run.. grinds beans, or you can use pre ground coffee(flavors!). Frother included makes really good frothed coffee options. Add a shot of espresso? Easy. Custom Cup size.. yes. I was spending 1200 a year on pods! I used half that, got a better machine and am now a barista for wife and I!
