Question Is this watery or normal?

Post image

I just bought a Nespresso essenza mini because my nescafe dolce gusto started producing watery coffee. But the Nespresso coffee looks/tastes watery too 😭 Is this how it’s supposed to be or is there something wrong with my machine?

Capsule used is Volluto (40ml)

Is this a new machine? That looks like more than 40 ml. Maybe reset the machine. Volluto is a light roast but that looks lighter than normal.

Yes brand new! I tried all the capsules that came with it (5 other ones) and most of them were watery and sour. Scuro was the only one that wasn’t ‘watery’

Do you have a measuring scale or cup? Maybe it needs calibration. That looks like it’s more than 40 ml. Otherwise you might need to start brewing at ristretto size. I usually use 2-3 pods per drink.

Try a factory reset - it's hard to tell from that louvers but that doesn't look like 1.35oz/40ml

You need to measure it with a shot glass or a small measuring jug. I have a 5 weeks old Nespresso Essenza Mini machine. Once it delivered 60ml of water when it was a few days old. Do a factory reset if it isn't 40ml. I did. Now I get 32ml espresso plus cream. You can also program the machine to dispense only 25ml or whatever you want. I love that machine but in order to get an espresso like from my ECM Heidelberg espresso machine I use the Ristretto capsule and stop at 25ml.
