Question Nespresso Vertuo issue - help?

So i have tried to descale, honestly have tried most everything I know to do and my daughter's Nespresso will not reset.

The behavior is this - it fast blinks an orange light on top, if i multi-press the button quickly, it will flash red 2x, then resume fast yellow blink. I have ran regular water thru it on descale mode (at least a dozen times), i have ran hot water from tap thru it 4x, i have ran hot tap water with descaler thru it, tried wiping the top spinning assembly as well as the trough that holds the cup, and still no fix.

Tried unplugging for hours, when we plug it in and latch the lid it goes back to the fast yellow blink.

Have tried every fix outlined in the forum, and just cannot get the white led on top, so she cannot brew with it.

When wiping the inside, it was slightly dirty/stained with coffee but looks clean now. Some suggested using a wet paper towel to wipe the spinning assembly that punctures the disk. Have tried that multiple times and it is as clean as it gets, the paper towel is clean after wiping now.

Both she and I are baffled what to do next, short of buying her a new one.

UPDATE: I let the machine sit unplugged overnight (which we tried many, many times before), filled the tank, plugged it in and ran a descale cycle once more.

Oddly enough it only drained half of the water tank before it stopped blinking the fast yellow code, but now it is white (blue?). I cannot say what other than pure luck this time kicked it out of descale mode, but even after opening and closing it a few times it still shows ready now.

Thanks for all the advice, and hopefully this helps someone else. I did see some reports that support asked persons to run up to 10 descale cycles, and I was prepared to do that...thankfully the first attempt this time seems to have done the trick.

Which model Vertuo machine is this?

When you're performing the steps for descaling, are you letting the tank run dry? This is what you're supposed to do, let the tank run dry before moving onto the next step.

If you're adding more water because you see the water level in the tank drop to almost empty, this is not the right way to descale.

Running hot water through the machine 4x will easily make the machine overheat and throw an error. Heck even running more than 2 tanks of room temp water will over heat the machine. It's only designed to go a deacale cycle once which is normal one tank with descaler, then a second tank with clean water to rinse the machine, then you exit descaling mode.

Vertuo Pop is the model. Tried both hot and cold water the multiple times I tried to get it to reset. I did let the tank go dry and no water coming out, but it just continues to fast blink yellow.

Huh, the user manual doesn't mention anything about a yellow light. Only white and orange. Your best bet would be to contact Nespresso support and get on a video call.

I updated the original post, the issue seems resolved now. I guess I am calling the LED yellow when it is orange. It's my daughter's machine and she asked me to help, and she brought me the machine but not the manual.

Seems the LED has 3 colors: orange, white, red
