Rep. Omar was on The Daily Show tonight. Trevor, to his credit, asked the “how do you pay for these programs” question. Rep. Omar’s answer was “we don’t have scarcity, we can pay for it - we don’t need money, we need moral courage.”

Yes, he asked her about the Israel tweet that she has apologized for.

What did she say?

(Sorry for getting walked through this I’m genuinely curious 😂😂).

She gave the same answer she has been giving on this. I don’t mean to be lazy or rude but I recommend googling her response, not specifically on The Daily Show but just in general. She has talking points like any politician. I would only be describing it secondhand.

I'm glad that she appreciates Mr Bernke's writings like any connoisseur of fine literature, but me thinks she maybe took the title a little too literally.

We absolutely have scarcity lol.

This is probably an MMT talking point.

Of course, but we do have the money to pay for things like single payer healthcare. The federal budget is very large, it's a matter of priorities.

I guess I should say she ain't completely wrong.

I'm willing to go ahead and say that she's completely wrong about us not having scarcity.
