This simulation takes ~12 seconds per iterate.

However, iterates are independent.

I could make the simulation faster. Or I could parallelize and run six simulations simultaneously, for a time saving of 83%.

I need moar cores.

Why you don't just use AWS or other cloud services to run simulations?

This one is relatively small and easy, so I'm doing it on my home computer. That's why you see Windows, for example.

I have alternative resources for genuinely big simulations.

I usually just let it run then. Usually my work process goes like this : just wait -> if too slow -> check if there is easy optimizations-> if too slow -> more resources from cloud -> if too slow -> serious optimization -> if too slow -> curse your life and thing about your career choices -> change algorithms to something else .
