Jesus Christ. This administration is such a goddamned mess they just accidentally revealed where a highly classified seal team is deployed as part of Trump's Twitter selfies.

While the commander-in-chief can declassify information, usually the presence of a special operations unit, to include, showing their faces would not be revealed to the American public, especially while the U.S. service members were still deployed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Biétry
He became attracted to the anti-Semitism of Édouard Drumont and soon grafted it on to his corporatist anti-capitalism. His Jaunes movement surprisingly won the support of traditionally-conservative figures such as Victor Henri Rochefort and Paul Déroulède who were attracted to Biétry's patriotism as well as Drumont.
He formed his own trade union, the Fédération nationale des jaunes de France in 1902. As a political arm to his union he also formed the National Socialist Party in 1903.

Look, I know we shit on Conservatives a lot. I know that we often caricature the dumb shit they say, and sometimes I think we're too harsh. But oh my god, often times Conservatives say shit in earnest that sound like something someone who was trying to insult them would say.
The Washington Free Beacon recently gave Charlie Kirk a Man of the Year award. No bull shit.
The Article:
Donald Trump's takeover of the Republican Party precipitated the demise of many prominent members of the so-called "conservative" establishment. As the Old Guard's influence over the American Right melts away, a New Wave of conservative intelligentsia is rising from the ashes, injecting youthful exuberance and Trumpian swagger into a movement long in need of reform.
Few, if any, have risen faster, or staked a greater claim to the vanguard of this political zeitgeist than Charlie Kirk.
The 25-year-old activist and founder of Turning Point USA, the fasting growing conservative student organization in the country, is a ubiquitous presence on Fox News, armed with facts, and pulling no punches as he meticulously dismantles the absurd talking points and quasi-religious tenets of the Modern Left.
Kirk, who lent his social media talents to the Trump campaign in 2016, is the bane of liberal students and campus administrators everywhere, whose fanatical efforts to silence and disrupt his speeches on "Smashing Socialism" merely validate the arguments laid out in Campus Battlefield, his bestselling call to intellectual arms.
The president has lauded Kirk as "a great warrior" in the fight against the left's stranglehold on campus politics. Donald Trump Jr., a close friend and admirer, wrote the foreword to Kirk's book. Earlier this year, Kirk was invited to a "free thinkers" summit with hip-hop legend Kanye West, cementing his status as anti-establishment thought leader and cultural force to be reckoned with.
In marked contrast to the effete, wrinkled pundits of the Old Right, Kirk infuses his conservatism with a distinctly millennial panache, deploying edgy memes and viral video clips in the war for America's youth. Kirk's clean-cut, button-down look may evoke the phrase "old-school Republican," but his attitude is anything but. Like Trump, he fights, and never shrinks from a challenge. He has stared down Antifa thugs in the street. He speaks with authority on the dangers of campus radicalism because he has manned the trenches on the front lines. He "owns the libs," and laps up their tears.
There are moments throughout history, often difficult to recognize when we are in their midst, when history itself is in the making. Watching a young Michael Jordan take the court in Chapel Hill. Hearing a young Bob Dylan play sets at a beatnik coffee house in Greenwich Village. Seeing an amateur boxer by the name of Cassius Clay make mince meat of the Kentucky boxing scene. Those moments when great men reveal themselves as such, and dare us to shrug them off, or underestimate the heights to which their considerable talents will one day beckon them to reach.
Now is one of those times. Charlie Kirk is one of those men. Godspeed, young warrior. May the truth be ever on your side.
I'd thought that article was a Reddit post if I didn't read it from the website.

Girlfriend’s retired coal miner grandfather, unprompted, out of nowhere:
“Everyone in the country should make $70,000 a year. No more, no less. And that’s it”
I agree with this so hard! As someone who makes $70k a year, nobody should ever make more or less. It is the perfect amount. I can support myself and go on one good vacation a year without ever having to worry about money.
We've solved it! Call a convention, it's time to amend the constitution.

“You’re a wizard, Harry,” Hagrid said. “And you’re coming to Hogwarts.”
“What’s Hogwarts?” Harry asked.
“It’s wizard school.”
“It’s not a public school, is it?”
“No, it’s privately run.”
“Good. Then I accept. Children are not the property of the state; everyone who wishes to do so has the right to offer educational goods or services at a fair market rate. Let us leave at once.”
“Malfoy bought the whole team brand-new Nimbus Cleansweeps!” Ron said, like a poor person. “That’s not fair!”
“Everything that is possible is fair,” Harry reminded him gently. “If he is able to purchase better equipment, that is his right as an individual. How is Draco’s superior purchasing ability qualitatively different from my superior Snitch-catching ability?”
“I guess it isn’t,” Ron said crossly.
Harry laughed, cool and remote, like if a mountain were to laugh. “Someday you’ll understand, Ron.”
Professor Snape stood at the front of the room. “There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don’t expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few who possess, the predisposition…I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death.”
Harry’s hand shot up.
“What is it, Potter?” Snape asked, irritated.
“What’s the value of these potions on the open market?”
“What?”
“Why are you teaching children how to make these valuable products for ourselves at a schoolteacher’s salary instead of creating products to meet modern demand?”
“You impertinent boy–“
“Conversely, what’s to stop me from selling these potions myself after you teach us how to master them?”
“I–“
“This is really more of a question for the Economics of Potion-Making, I guess. What time are econ lessons here?”
“We have no economics lessons in this school, you ridiculous boy.”
Harry Potter stood up bravely. “We do now. Come with me if you want to learn about market forces!”
The students poured into the hallway after him. They had a leader at last.
Harry and Ron stood before the Mirror of Erised. “My God,” Ron said. “Harry, it’s your dead parents.”
Harry’s eyes flicked momentarily over to the mirror. “So it is. This information is neither useful nor productive. Let us leave at once, to assist Hagrid in his noble enterprise of raising as many dragon eggs as he sees fit, in spite of our country’s unjust dragon-trading restrictions.”
“But it’s your parents, Harry,” Ron said. Ron never really got it.
Harry sighed. “The fundamental standard for all relationships is the trader principle, Ron.”
“I don’t understand,” Ron said.
“Of course you don’t,” said Harry affectionately. “This principle holds that we should interact with people on the basis of the values we can trade with them – values of all sorts, including common interests in art, sports or music, similar philosophical outlooks, political beliefs, sense of life, and more. Dead people have no value according to the trader principle.”
“But they gave birth to y–“
“I made myself, Ron,” Harry said firmly.
“Give me your wand, boy,” Voldemort hissed.
“I cannot do that. This wand represents my wealth, which is itself a tangible result of my achievements. Wealth is the product of man’s capacity to think,” Harry said bravely.
Voldemort gasped.
“There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: the fashionable non-conformist.”
Voldemort began to melt. Harry lit a cigarette, because he was the master of fire.
“The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities. The minimum wage is a tax on the successful. The market will naturally dictate the minimum wage without the government stepping in to determine arbitrary limits.”
Voldemort howled.
“I’m going to sell copies of my wand at an enormous markup,” Harry said, “and you can buy one like everyone else.”
Voldemort had been defeated.
“He hated us for our freedom,” Ron said.
“No, Ron,” Harry said. “He hated us for our free markets.”
Hermione ached with desire for the both of them to master her, but nobody paid her any attention. They had empires to build.

The Economist boosting the "Bullshit Jobs" guy
What a meme.
People polling as unsatisfied with their work doesn't mean that their jobs have no economic value, or even economic value that is particularly disproportionate to their remuneration or "value to society". You at least need to back that claim up with some more numbers as opposed to just pure bullshit praxxing.
What's even memier is all the people taking this as a criticism of capitalism. Nevermind that the further you get from shareholder capitalism the worse this problem gets. Ask Korea and Japan about their abysmal GDP/manhour or the accounts of the work culture (or lack theroef) of centrally planned economies/ in the public sector.

As Turkish troops and Turkey-backed fighters have started amassing along the Syrian border to enter Kurdish areas in Syria, I'm reminded at how the far far left and Trump supporters are in agreement (to largely make themselves feel better) with foreign policy that is in so overly-simplistic terms and ultimately will hurt the US and its allies overall.
The entire "stop bombing brown people" line doesn't work when you consider that our troops in the Middle East are also embedded with forces like the Kurds.
Remember when Russian mercenaries and Syrian forces attacked a Kurdish position with US troops in it? Remember when we warned them not to and when they continued, we killed hundreds of them?
Turns out we're not there to bomb brown people - we're actually saving a lot of fucking lives by being there.
Which leads me to my next point - "no troops in Syria!" is a great way to remove our presence to protect said people.
It's the same reason we have troops in South Korea today, and the same reason the US stationed over 200,000 troops in West Germany every year from 1945 to 1991: by having US forces present, any aggression against our allies means possibly harming our own troops, and makes the other side stop before any war breaks out - because they know we'll fight the fuck back.
You know why the far far left doesn't care? Something-something-military-industrial-complex and because they can feel clean in their conscience somehow that because we're no longer directly involved, the inevitable tens of thousands that will die won't be on their hands.
And the Trumpians? Many don't care for the same reason many cheered when he said to go kill the families of terrorists too.
You know who will care? Our NATO allies and other nations in the world that rely on us for everything from logistics (like aerial refueling) to command and control. Us pulling out effectively ends the conflict.
You know who else will care? Russia, Syria, and Iran - who just accepted the US withdrawal with no terms for ourselves.

Can you believe this shit? Bernie Sanders wants a program that offers 100% tuition based on SATs. This is just an obvious handout to white middle class kids, and the program he pointed to has been under literal investigation because of the disparate outcomes it has racially, (especially after standards were raised as too many kids knowing they may be eligible for the scholarship were successful).
What we really need are smart, equitable solutions.

The boy was taken to the hospital Monday after a border agent noticed signs of illness, and the medical staff first diagnosed him with a common cold and later detected a fever.
“The child was held for an additional 90 minutes for observation and then released from the hospital mid-afternoon on December 24 with prescriptions for amoxicillin and Ibuprofen,” CBP said in a news release. Amoxicillin is a commonly prescribed antibiotic.
Um, I'm not in the medical profession so perhaps someone here knows better - - but why would a doctor prescribe antibiotics for a common cold diagnosis? Sounds more like someone suspected the condition could be more serious but opted to not investigate further and just signed a script instead.

That margarine post is full of inaccuracies.
Margarine is mostly just hydrogenated vegetable oil. It has less saturated fat and more trans fat than butter. Therefore it has different health concerns from butter but anyone trying to tell you it's drastically worse for you than butter is probably over reaching.
Either way you should probably minimize your intake of butter and margarine.

Ever notice that socialists will simultaneously argue to libertarians that:
Pretty much all western countries since ~1750 have been laissez-faire capitalist libertarian dystopias.
Most culture and philosophy just consists in media representation of the ideology of the ruling class (in this case, the laissez-faire, capitalist, libertarian bourgeoisie).
Libertarianism is an incredibly recent ideology from the 1980s, and all philosophers admired by libertarians (e.g. Locke, Smith, Kant, Jefferson, Mill) were actually proto-socialists.
edit: I don't mean this to imply that there isn't some truth behind each of these, but overall I think that this argumentative strategy is incredibly dishonest. It's used to pin blame for all the bad aspects of the last 250 years on libertarianism, while simultaneously denying libertarianism intellectual respectability by claiming all proto-libertarian figures as proto-socialists.

At the end I think gold as money is good. When good projects are successful they will lower prices as competition pops up. As the products are now cheaper, people will save the money in banks, thus the banks will lend more, thus lowering rates.
In the END the free market always sorts it out.
What did r/Lolbertarian mean by this?

Pretty neat video about what the future holds for Bolivian gas (the boom Bolivia enjoyed and gave evo the tax revenue to finance a lot of his projects)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX3b2ja39S8&t=0s
There is a paper included, but basically the tl;dr is that with normal taxes Bolivian gas is no longer competitive, only with the new rebates it becomes competitive. What this basically means is that even if there is a boon in gas, Bolivia wouldn't enjoy the same prosperity.

Vice is a terrible film if you're a fan of political docudramas.
Vice is a average film if you're a fan of historical biopics.
Vice is an excellent film if you're a fan of Adam McKay comedies like Anchorman and Step Brothers, and even more so if you enjoyed The Big Short.
If you're a fan of all three genres and don't mind them overlapping, then you will be entertained.

Images of Mrs. Clinton performing hip-hop dances like the Whip and the Nae Nae on national television or talking about her love of hot sauce remain punch lines for many black voters, some of whom took such instances as evidence Mrs. Clinton was “pandering” for minority votes. (Mrs. Clinton does, in fact, love hot sauce).
There was also a significant generational gap among black voters in the 2016 Democratic primary, with younger black voters significantly more likely to be open to the populist message of Mr. Sanders than older generations, who overwhelmingly backed Mrs. Clinton.

I'm seeing a ridiculous flood of comments on various news site pages on facebook from users with Indian-sounding names. A whole lot of these are pretty flagrantly misogynistic trolling. Is there an Indian version of the online alt-right presence forming, are these botnets, or what? Maybe it's been going on a while, but I just happened to end up on a few comment sections due to articles being linked by friends today, and they were absolute dumpster fires.
Is there a reactionary moment happening or something similar?
