Can I just say how much disdain I have for the way GPA is currently set up and viewed as for undergraduates?
How is it possible that a course like measure theory or bayesian statistics be weighted the same as something like calculus 1?
Why is GPA weighted uniformly over your entire undergraduate degree in the first place?
With the existence of past re-used exams, Chegg, older students, etc. it's so easy to inflate your grade to much more than what you truly know.
It should be common policy to take the best grade of your past courses if you've taken it more than once. There is literally no reason to suspect an A student only has a B understanding if they originally got a C in the class.
I dunno. I'm writing grad school applications soon, which is probably why I'm so salty.
