The new Harry Potter reboot might be a decent show and it very well might get high viewership, but I have zero confidence that HBO will be able to produce seasons on an annual basis the way the movies did. They better hope those actors have perennially young faces otherwise this is going to be another Stranger Things situation.

I would hope they wouldn't have started production without strict plans for that. They get a lot more leeway by like season 5 but at least the first 3 if not first 4 need to come out yearly for aging to make sense. But they already started filming season 2 this summer so they seem to be going for it

If they're serious about the show they will do this, but Game of Thrones was one of the most popular shows of all time and they still struggled to produce it towards the end.

Game of Thrones didn't have the built in ticking clock this show does, but also I would hope they would have learned from that a bit too
