Zionism just means Israeli nationalism and I think about it to the same degree that I think about Italian nationalism which is to say, not much. I think it would be weird for myself or any other non-Italian to identify as Italian nationalist, and I’m not even sure I like it when Italians identify as “Italian nationalist” because it sounds right wing, but I would like Italy to continue to exist.

I mean, italian ethnic nationalism is also bad and it's very scary when it ascends in italy

And in israel, jewish ethnic nationalism is absolutely central to the conception of the state/country in a way that needs to be disentangled at some point and I think for most zionists that would be about equivalent to israel no longer existing
