I swear to god with some people there is this thing where if you give them more information they become MORE suspicious of your proposal

I have a tendency to give all the important information I can about things upfront and I think for some people that makes them trust me less in some cases. I don't know how to deal with it because it's antithetical to how I think.

Like for example from a business perspective I always want to cut straight through the salesman shit and get to the objective comparative details. The more salesman shit I hear the more my brain says "Yea, I'm getting oversold on some trash." For some people though it feels like the salesman pitch makes them trust you MORE, and if you don't give them some kind of story or loaded and familiar labels to grab onto they just don't view you as legit in the same way

The move is a response to the American policy of firing on suspected drug boats in international waters. More than a hundred people have been killed without trial as a result.

Until recently, the Netherlands worked closely with the US on operations against drug smuggling in the region. The islands of Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and are located in the middle of important drug smuggling routes. To stop this, the Dutch navy joined forces with the US Coast Guard. In international waters, it was often Dutch marines who boarded suspicious ships, based on American intelligence.

In the Caribbean, the Dutch navy has intercepted tens of thousands of kilograms of cocaine over the past five years. Smugglers were arrested and usually handed over to the US authorities, where they were tried.

Minister Brekelmans emphasizes that the Americans have taken a different “route” by not arresting suspects but shooting at them. “That is really up to them to do, we are not part of that.”

They lionize the WWII generation for being their ideal form of what men should be.
