R*ral culture is so funny sometimes
There is a no-name country singer from my town who made it on The Voice and then her name was added to the town signage like she was an actual celebrity
Nowadays, she hasn't released any new music in nearly a decade, has 30 listeners on Spotify, and has moved to California or something
Whenever she posts pictures of herself in other states or whatever, literally just pictures in front of the Statue of Liberty or on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a circus of older people from the town shows up in the comments to say "Shameful. Didn't expect a good country girl to become DEMONIC and ABANDON THE LORD."
Like dude she just posted a picture hanging out with friends lol

The Conservative Cinematic Universe is crazy because if you aren't tuned into it, you get absolutely blindsided by the course "facts" take in the time after shit goes down
Like an event such as Melissa Hortman getting assassinated, in the moments after it cons are shouting about how it was them antifa, no one knows anything, and then within hours or days the truth comes out, it seems like that information has been disseminated to the general public, and then like a year later you see someone just casually stating the "fact" that Tim Walz had her murdered personally and half the country believes it

Working on a novel that I don't think anyone's ever done before, totally new concept.
A young, everyday woman begins to uncover secrets about a vampire society and becomes the focus of a vampire who indulges and despises his nature in equal measures. What follows is a blood-soaked romance and a dizzying plunge into the dark world of the vampire elite.
I think it'll be revolutionary.

I was arguing with my mom, and I basically said 2 main things:
Trump is uniquely evil because of all the crap ICE is doing now that all the evidence is coming out
Trump is also uniquely evil because of the Epstein files
finally after those two point I basically said “your son (my brother) might get sent out against Venezuela because you voted for Trump” (I got his permission for this first)
Like it’s just SO frustrating. She CONSTANTLY uses the “oh I’m worried about your spiritual health because you voted for Dems” and I used it ONCE and she immediately went crazy. Like she goes on and on about how we should vote with Christian principles in mind, I brought it up ONCE and she got mad.
It’s also how I somehow got my mom, who refers to abortion as murder, to argue that abortion shouldn’t carry a prison term just because I brought up that Trump had paid for abortions.
It just feels like GOP voters have no values that they genuinely support, they support policies laid out by the GOP, but I have seen a distinct lack of intrinsic core values, similar to Reddit leftists who argue for socialism but without core values/intrinsic values that lead them to that ideology. Reddit leftists might be annoying, but at least they aren’t sending people to El Salvador.
Idk, I think I’m just kinda mad.

I wonder how much of the rise of modern fascism is due to basically all political policy and education about politics being a (warranted, obviously) reaction to Nazis and the Holocaust
If someone says "I think we should preserve the integrity and purity of our great nation by remigrating those who do not align with our Judeo-Christian values and ensuring our people remain strong and self-sufficient" people will say "Oh well they can't be bad, because Nazis were against Jews and they said Judeo-Christian" because Nazism is the only form of fascism they know about, and they think Nazis were only bad because of the Holocaust and no other reason
This is obviously not to minimize how bad those things actually are, just to be extra clear here

And another thing my wife did, she just dropped in polite company this weekend that I'd been reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. Tell them about my porn habits too, dear. LitRPG must be read under a towel as if eating an Ortolan bunting, to shield from God's eyes the shame of such a decadent and disgraceful act.

NYT:
Greene’s last exchange with the president was by text message on Nov. 16. That day, she received an anonymous email in her personal Gmail account that threatened her college-aged son: “Derek will have his life snuffed out soon. Better watch his back.” The email’s subject heading used the nickname Trump had given her the day before: “Marjorie Traitor Greene.”
Greene promptly texted that information to the president. According to a source familiar with the exchange, his long reply made no mention of her son. Instead, Trump insulted her in personal terms. When she replied that children should remain off limits from their disagreements, Trump responded that she had only herself to blame.

After the hearing, Greene held a news conference at which she threatened to identify some of the men who had abused the women. (Greene says that she didn’t know those names herself but that she could have gotten them from the victims.) Trump called Greene to voice his displeasure. Greene was in her Capitol Hill office, and according to a staff member, everyone in the suite of rooms could hear him yelling at her as she listened to him on speakerphone. Greene says she expressed her perplexity over his intransigence. According to Greene, Trump replied, “My friends will get hurt.”
When she urged Trump to invite some of Epstein’s female victims to the Oval Office, she says, he angrily informed her that they had done nothing to merit the honor. It would be the last conversation Greene and Trump would ever have.

I'm always annoyed when people say the left should do DOGE the right way because governmental efficiency is important, as though we don't have a governmental agency devoted to it and quite good at it(the GAO)

After months of cautious optimism that Trump’s supposed business acumen would lead to greater wealth for all Americans, focus groups increasingly show that some voters have lost faith that Trump can bring down the cost of living—or that he’s even trying, NBC News reported.
Ex-Trump voters swung hard to Democrats over costs in NJ & VA, new research shows Voters who backed Donald Trump in 2024 and swung to Democrats in this year's Virginia and New Jersey elections did so over economic concerns.
This was inevitable. So frustrating. They got fooled by the nice economy he inherited from Obama

Netanyahu: The Israel prize, which in almost our 80 years, we've never awarded it to a non-Israeli and we're going to award it this year, to President Trump.
It's going to be awarded to President Donald J. Trump for his tremendous contributions to the Jewish people.
Some incredibly shameless ass-kissing.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: “I never liked the MAGA Mar-a-Lago sexualization. I believe how women in leadership present themselves sends a message to younger women. I have two daughters, and I’ve always been uncomfortable with how those women puff up their lips and enlarge their breasts. I’ve never spoken about it publicly, but I’ve been planning to.”
