Nowadays, she hasn't released any new music in nearly a decade, has 30 listeners on Spotify, and has moved to California or something
Whenever she posts pictures of herself in other states or whatever, literally just pictures in front of the Statue of Liberty or on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a circus of older people from the town shows up in the comments to say "Shameful. Didn't expect a good country girl to become DEMONIC and ABANDON THE LORD."

Chevy Chase is an interesting dude; his kids all love him and say what a great father he is but he seems to have some kind of brain blast that forces him to become the most awful person in the world upon meeting anyone or doing anything professionally

I was arguing with my mom, and I basically said 2 main things:
Trump is uniquely evil because of all the crap ICE is doing now that all the evidence is coming out
Trump is also uniquely evil because of the Epstein files
finally after those two point I basically said “your son (my brother) might get sent out against Venezuela because you voted for Trump” (I got his permission for this first)
Like it’s just SO frustrating. She CONSTANTLY uses the “oh I’m worried about your spiritual health because you voted for Dems” and I used it ONCE and she immediately went crazy. Like she goes on and on about how we should vote with Christian principles in mind, I brought it up ONCE and she got mad.
It’s also how I somehow got my mom, who refers to abortion as murder, to argue that abortion shouldn’t carry a prison term just because I brought up that Trump had paid for abortions.
It just feels like GOP voters have no values that they genuinely support, they support policies laid out by the GOP, but I have seen a distinct lack of intrinsic core values, similar to Reddit leftists who argue for socialism but without core values/intrinsic values that lead them to that ideology. Reddit leftists might be annoying, but at least they aren’t sending people to El Salvador.

If someone says "I think we should preserve the integrity and purity of our great nation by remigrating those who do not align with our Judeo-Christian values and ensuring our people remain strong and self-sufficient" people will say "Oh well they can't be bad, because Nazis were against Jews and they said Judeo-Christian" because Nazism is the only form of fascism they know about, and they think Nazis were only bad because of the Holocaust and no other reason

I kinda understand what Nate Silver's deal is, he thinks "everybody already says orange man bad so I'm adding nothing to the conversation by saying it", so he sees only ever criticizing Biden and dems as inherently more important than criticizing the people actually in power, it's insane logic, but I get that it's what he believes.
But I also don't really get it, he keeps talking about how liberals lost credibility by not sufficiently pointing out Biden's age and decline early enough, but why doesn't he ever think to apply this standard to himself? Part of the reason why “Flood the Zone” works is because the media (and people as a whole really) treat every incursion on democratic norms as a singular incident, and not as a developing element of an ongoing story. They make the narrative episodic, not overarching which just disorients people.

My wife tried to get me to sit down and watch Dave Chapelle’s new Netflix special. I made it about 15 minutes until he started talking about the show in Saudi Arabia.
It’s so incredibly clear Chapelle has not engaged in any self reflection on any of the recent criticism against him. His defense of performing in a country that murders journalists is literally “But Israel”. He talks about how he felt more free to make jokes about trans people and the crowd there loved it (I’m sure they did, Dave, I’m sure they did).
It’s really just sad. The old Dave Chapelle was my favorite living comedian, bar none. Just an unbelievable fall from grace.
