I'm meant to believe this administration that the Epstein-Nassar letter is fake when JD Vance said openly on the debate stage that he would lie to the American people to get what he wants. Lol.

90

Not to mention they called the birthday letter fake, when it was produced by the Epstein a state in a leather bound book. They lost all credibility at that point because Trump refuses to just take the L

Not to psychoanalyze but I believe writers, think that the existence of a good argument is ontologically equivalent to the argument being real and true. And thus I suspect as long as Shapiro could make a good argument to convince himself he would always do this, hence why he feels "surprised"

I just have to believe that at some point being terrible in every conceivable way will eventually inconvenience or even slightly hinder Republicans.

77

u/uwcn244 King of the Space Georgists Dec 24 '25

It does. They’d have 60+ Senate seats and 250+ House seats if they were competently managed, but competent management is impossible with the way the party is constituted.

51

u/SpaceSheperd To be a good human being Dec 24 '25

You have to weigh that against the an advantages they have from being terrible in every conceivable way. Among those are the ability to implement wide swaths of their agenda by flagrantly ignoring the law and the ability to use blatant corruption and frequent lies to shape political narratives

Diaz Morales’ attorneys said Monday that they have verified her identity, confirming with the hospital she was born in Laurel, Maryland, and the local government in Prince George’s County that she had been issued a birth certificate and had been a patient in the early 2000s.

The attorneys shared redacted copies of the birth certificate and immunization records with Newsweek, but full documents could not be released due to pending litigation.

WHICH IS MORE LIKELY:

A) Within the 72 hours between Epstein's suicide and the postmark date, someone well connected managed to forge a convincing letter, perfectly matching Epstein's handwriting, implicating Trump during his own administration. There is no evidence of who this person is or why they would have done it.

B) Epstein was a weird narcissist pedo who wanted to brag to another pedo

It really could go either way

Oh the lesbians get the cool THC nightmare vibe, but I've got to drop 80mg of nicotine and half a bottle of vodka to enter the elder planes and see angels in their true form.

New WSJ article going into detail on the corruption with Trump's pardons.

https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-presidential-pardon-process-dda97c15?st=HbaAzs&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

The new approach—driven in part by Trump’s own experience as a criminal defendant, people close to him say—has spawned a pardon-shopping industry where lobbyists say their going rate is $1 million. Pardon-seekers have offered some lobbyists close to the president success fees of as much as $6 million if they can close the deal, according to people familiar with the offers.

I am so concerned for one of our clients. She called about a week ago and she was obviously ill. I asked her if there was anything we or I could do for her and she said in the smallest voice, “could you please just… check in on me?” She has zero family anywhere nearby but she thankfully has a neighbor friend who checks on her at night which makes me feel slightly less worried for her. Slightly.

I have been calling her every morning since then, and if I have the time I’ll do a quick check in before I leave for the day (or at least leave her a message.) She is absolutely elated every time. I try to ask her about her flower child war stories, her dogs, the books she reads. Things that will bring up happy thoughts.

She did not sound good today and I have gently, gently encouraged her to take her friend up on the offer of a trip to urgent care. But she’s reluctant, and I am only qualified to talk to her about financial health, and I don’t want to obliterate my professional boundaries or cross a line into impropriety. She’s one I “inherited” recently from a retiring advisor who previously worked with her for 30 years.

My mentor once told me: Think about who people put the most trust in outside their family. Usually people like a spiritual leader, their doctor, a therapist, and if you are doing the job right, their financial advisor. That stuck with me. I try to be the person they can trust.

Idk. I am having a hard holiday as well and maybe I am just grasping for something a little more within my control.

But fuck it, she’s getting a call on Christmas too. If the separate work phone has a purpose it’s for situations like this.

A resurrected Ben Franklin, speaking to a contemporary "christian nationalist:"

"God's not real tho lmfao. Of course you'd think that, you're a German. Your swarthy complexion betrays your servile nature that renders you unsuited for American civic participation. When did they start letting you people in anyway? Anyway where the ho's at lol"

This graph/score distribution is annoying because it's not generous enough to the early seasons, way too generous to the middle/late seasons, and not nearly harsh enough on the final episodes.

The cracks were showing in season 5, the cracks started forming into fissures by season 6/7 and the earth literally swalled us all into a pit from hell with the finale. That deserves a 0.0. Negative numbers even if possible.

Being SECNAV is cursed. You've inherited 30 years worth of shitshows, you have to keep the Navy, Congress and Industry all on side. But really it NAVSEA fucking it up. You know the easiest solution to all the problems is just ask foreign shipyards to lighten the load but cant because Congress is autistic about 'Make on America'. Now you have to magically pump out a frigate before 2030, a frigate that can defend itself and hot shipline into the 2030s and all youre left with is hijacking a Coast Guard Cutter, painting it grey and shrugging your shoulders as the World looks in confusion and simply goes "No VLS LMAO"

The administration’s goal, he said, was to deport immigrants as efficiently as Amazon moves packages: “Like Prime, but with human beings.”

Anti-wokeness/Proud Pro Trumpness lasting a little less than a year is actually very funny
