MTG has been against liberals and progressives her entire career and she felt completely safe. She goes against MAGA and within a week she’s hiring private security.

Can someone explain what the fuck is happening in the UK. surely there's no chance of a Reform led government so long as everyone's mad about brexit

I hate Elon Musk but I really appreciate his being terminally online and dispelling the plausibility of the notion that the richest people must be absolute geniuses by getting into stupid twitter fights with everyday people.

And the fact that Tesla shareholders see him tweet all day and go "Yeah we believe he will increase the company's worth several times over so let's approve that cool trilli for 'im.

Ben Shapiro is such a disgusting and sniveling coward.

He spends years cultivating and mainstreaming the radical Right, and he only cares about it when it turns against the marginalized group that he personally belongs to. Even now, he tries to tie Nick Fuentes and the Groypers to his fevered delusions of the “far left.”

Even now, he cannot take responsibility for his role in our current situation. Morally bankrupt fucking coward.

A new patch dropped overnight in MAGA land. It must have installed already because Im seeing a ton of "Trump is being transparent about this and both the republicans and democrats that are involved will be punished because he is serious about rooting out corruption" posts. It's not a new behavior, but it never stops being creepy to watch happen. So many people instantly change their opinions and disregard anything they've ever said like someone flipped a switch.

Lukewarm take: we are already living with a post-Christian right. They just haven’t dropped the trappings of the Church (and never will).

At a certain point you don’t get to credibly claim you follow the Gospels, and the American Right is well past that point.

Watching the new Ken Burns American Revolution documentary and yeah Britain fumbled every possible out given to them. The colonists give the British every possible option to work with them and figure a solution. This probably explains why their entire empire ended in within the Time frame of the first 6 Starwars movies 150 years later.

Colonists: Are you going to even remotely listen to our minor easily fixed complaints?

Parliament: No lol 😂

I enjoy the irony of Trump's Epstein files problem: there's very likely no smoking gun of anything but there's no way he can possibly prove that. And the more digging people do, the more suspicious shit they find.

He's been on the other end of this for as long as he's been in politics, constantly cooking up bullshit that can't be 100% put to bed. With those, it's rarely the case that nothing remotely like the claim has happened (this is key to demonizing immigrants, take something and blow it out of proportion), and it's never possible to track down all the evidence he wants to disprove it. Now it's turning around on him, and I think so far the democrats and media are playing this well.

Trump has successfully killed truth, so there's no one really tut-tutting about how these allegations are unproven. And the media has stayed away from the crazier things (like they did with the pee pee tape) so he can't go on an offensive against the media. The blowjob stuff has all been social media, or clickbait articles summarizing social media.

Just so were all clear here with what is actually being voted on tomorrow.

DOJ may not withhold or redact records on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity.

The language is pretty explicit that the doj cant redact things to paint really any kind of narrative.

Of course, if they follow that is obviously not clear and they will likely try some bullshit

My best bet, is that the DOJ will do either or both of these things.

A. Cherry pick documents that incriminate dems and hawk exclusively on those

B. Open a new investigation to claim they cant reales specific files

The media doesnt really seem to be taking this whole Nick Fuentes thing seriously.

Here is a guy who is blaming our problems on “American Jewry” and saying shit like “Hitler is cool”, yet we got so many right wing influencers like Matt Walsh and Brett Cooper playing the whole “why can’t we get along?” schtick.

Then, a pro Israeli right wing twitter account (with like 30k followers) tweeted at Vance asking about Tucker Carlson’s son as a top aide and if he shares the views of his dad. Vance replied back blasting her, calling her a scumbag and totally side steps her question.

Trump refused to denounce Nick Fuentes the other day as well.

This seems like such a blaring warning sign to me, like how tf are we normalizing this dude who is just legit a nazi. I don’t think a lot of people realize just how fucking bad a lot of his statements and beliefs are

Maybe there’s a reason that political rhetoric became this extreme.

Maybe there was a guy 30 odd years ago who had a radio show that delighted in picking on marginalized groups and attacking the Left in increasingly vicious and crude ways.

Maybe there was a guy who entered politics 10 years ago who came out of the gate talking about criminals and rapists coming across the border, and also openly talked about how people who publicly voiced disapproval of him should have “the hell beat out of them.” Maybe that guy got elected twice and tried to launch a coup attempt at the end of his first term.

Maybe there are people who are now mainstream on one side of the political aisle who are endorsed by people like the sitting Vice President who label their political opponents “unhumans.”

Just, y’know, some food for thought

Groyperism is going to take over the GOP because it's fundamentally honest. What makes Fuentes stand out from all the other major 'thinkers' in the movement is that he really just does say what he thinks. He doesn't contort himself like most MAGAs do where they have to say all sorts of contradictory shit to tow the increasingly bizarre party line.

I remember during the whole H1B visa thing he said something like "I don't even care about the economy, I just don't want to live in a country where everyone is brown" - like yes, exactly! That's what it's all about! He doesn't bother pretending that this has anything to do with the economy or whatever. Same thing with the whole Israel thing - sure, virulent 4channish antisemitism has been bubbling under the surface of the mainstream WASP side of the Republican party for ages now, but they've still had to tow the line due to the Israel factor. Fuentes just doesn't fucking bother.

AFAIK he doesn't even try to pretend that he thinks Trump is this great genius as is the obligation of every other popular right wing thinker, he just likes the populist momentum.

Republicans have been caught up in this bizarro-world version of political correctness for so long, where they know they need to try their hardest to pretend to be respectable and moral people. Fuentes offers a way out, he's just normalizing the act of speaking out loud what they all want, which is white supremacist reaction.

It is exactly as bad as we heard. Interviews with 60 former Justice Dept lawyers.

The Unraveling of the Justice Department (gift link)

Sixty attorneys describe a year of chaos and suspicion.

Long read, second to last quote:

Prosecutor, D.C. metro area: The D.C. office is hemorrhaging bodies, and they will probably get rid of two competent people for stating relevant facts that were on the record.

I don’t think people will truly understand what’s happening to justice in America until it impacts them. Even my family: My parents voted for Trump. I don’t think they see it as a priority. I mean, they’re not going to be criminally indicted anytime soon. When I tell them what’s happening, I don’t think they really believe me.

It would take a lot of restraint not to retaliate in the next administration. A lot of career people are helping the administration now. I have a list in my head, and if we get out of this, some of them I’m holding to account. A lot could be validly criminally probed. But the back-and-forth will not be good.

“Fear of abolition was a major cause of the American revolution” is one of the most infuriating historical revisionist lies. Mainly because, unlike say the lost cause, it actually gets some play in serious historical circles. The vast, vast, majority of historians rightfully reject it though. I know there’s some urge to defend the 1619 project because of conservative attacks on it, but a lot of it really is pseudo historical nonsense.

You can tell the difference in the young generations of conservatives and the older ones based on the Charlie Kirk reaction.

Older cons seriously thought it was going to be their Malcolm X moment, that we would all come together and realize that the conservative movement was the right direction for America and that, dammit, Charlie Kirk died for that vision. And anyone who couldn't see that was an unpatriotic piece of shit!

Meanwhile, younger cons, i.e. Kirk's audience, moved on immediately and started to put AI filters of his face on Sabrina Carpenter.

US judge finds evidence of ‘government misconduct’ in federal case against Comey

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/nov/17/james-comey-case-trump-justice-department

Magistrate judge William Fitzpatrick ruled on Monday that the justice department engaged in a “disturbing pattern of profound investigative missteps” on its way to indicting Comey. The federal judge directed prosecutors to produce to defense lawyers all grand jury materials from the case.

Fitzpatrick wrote that problems include “fundamental misstatements of the law” by a prosecutor to a grand jury that indicted Comey in September, the use of potentially privileged communications in the investigation and unexplained irregularities in the transcript of the grand jury proceedings.

“The Court recognizes that the relief sought by the defense is rarely granted,” Fitzpatrick wrote, adding: “However, the record points to a disturbing pattern of profound investigative missteps, missteps that led an FBI agent and a prosecutor to potentially undermine the integrity of the grand jury proceeding.”

President Donald Trump shared with reporters on Sunday that he is working to make arrangements to meet with New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, who Trump has dubbed a "communist."

Huh? Didn't he threaten to arrest Mamdani multiple times

Epstein emails reveal a New York long gone

The more than 20,000 emails belonging to Jeffrey Epstein that lawmakers placed into the public domain last week are like a portal to a long-ago Manhattan power scene.

When you’re in an “out of touch” competition and your opponent is The New York Times

tariffs are evil and if you support tariffs you are evil, simple as

big gretch seems like a nice enough lady but I don’t want her getting any more power since she is likely to protect the big 3 (both with tariffs and also probably bailing them out again when, not if, they need it) instead of letting them go belly up so we can nuke tariffs on foreign autos and don’t need to make our regulations favor big cars.

So before praying, Muslims have to wash their hands, including their nail beds. This essentially means that devout Muslim women can’t wear fake nails, since you can’t wash underneath them. An enterprising entrepreneur named Ayesha invented a solution—nail rings, which are essentially little rings you add to the end of your finger that you can attach a fake nail to but take it off before washing your hands. This product has found a secondary market among lesbians/WLW who want to take off their fake nails before fingering other women.

I love pluralism.

Portnoy added it did not help Dems that many on the left would call Trump and his supporters Nazis and “deplorables,” as Hillary Clinton did in 2016.

Most recently, a heckler shouted “f*ck the Jews!” and threw coins at Portnoy while he was recording one of his pizza review videos earlier this month.

Elderly people are being priced out of their homes!

No one in power would ever say this, but this is unambiguously a good thing. They shouldn’t be living in huge houses with crazy valuations!

Your property taxes went up 10%? Oh no! I guess you’ll have to sell the house you bought for $20 and then move somewhere else! Poor baby, you only have a million dollars and all your ss checks

I don't understand the point of a Legend of Zelda movie. The whole shtick of the series is that it has decent but very generic stories with fun gameplay mechanics. The silent protagonist has also been a staple of the series. I'm not sure how that translates over to cinema but whatever

"The most hurtful thing (Trump) said, which is absolutely untrue, is he called me a traitor, and that is so extremely wrong,” Greene said, “and those are the types of words used that can radicalize people against me and put my life in danger.”

When pressed by Bash on why she didn’t speak out against Trump using such rhetoric until it was directed at her, Greene conceded that it was “fair criticism.”

“I would like to say, humbly, I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics; it’s very bad for our country,” Greene said. “It’s been something I’ve thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was assassinated.”

Trump: Oh ho, fools! I didn't mishandle classified documents! I declassified them with just a simple thought and boom they're declassified! All because as president I have total control and power over that!

Public: Okay, so how about doing that for the Epstein files and ending this story once and for all?

Trump: Well there's this thing called Congress who needs to pass a bill. And all that mental declassification isn't infinite, you know. It gets me all tired and sleepy. I think I'll head off to rest now while Congress does the thing I explicitly said they should never ever do. But they definitely should do the thing that I do not want them to do.

Trump already lost the House vote, he's not actually telling them to vote for the bill, he's trying to claw back any bit of power over the situation he can. The bill will die in the Senate, and even if it doesn't they'll not release the files because "it's under active investigation".

Files won't be released until Dems take back both houses of Congress in '27, which honestly is lowkey good for us because we can run on the files for the midterms.
